DeepL, a global leader in language AI, announced the launch of its first voice translation solution, DeepL Voice, with the first two products unveiled: DeepL Voice for Meetings and DeepL Voice for Conversations. DeepL Voice enables virtual meetings in multiple languages and translates in-person conversations in real-time.

“As a company, real-time speech translation with DeepL’s proven quality and security was our next challenge. We are excited to finally unveil our first products today. To achieve this, we have built on the expertise and models we have developed since our founding in 2017, and worked closely with customers in a beta program to deliver a solution tailored to the everyday challenges of businesses,” said Jarek Kutylowski , CEO and Founder of DeepL .

“DeepL is already a leader in translating written content, but translating speech in real time poses completely different challenges: incomplete information, pronunciation issues, and latency are some of the factors that can lead to inaccurate translations and poor user experience. These same elements can lead to misunderstandings in personal interactions. So we designed a solution that takes this into account from the start and allows companies to overcome the language barrier by giving them the ability to communicate in multiple languages, depending on their needs,” continues Jarek Kutylowski .

The launch of DeepL Voice is the company’s first foray into the voice translation sector. The company’s reputation for industry-leading security and translation quality is also at the heart of its two new powerful products:

  • DeepL Voice for Meetings eliminates the language barrier in remote meetings. It allows all participants to speak in their preferred language, while their contributions are translated in real time and displayed as subtitles to others. Team members can now communicate in their native language, for clearer and more dynamic communication than ever before.
  • DeepL Voice for Conversations is available on mobile devices to facilitate face-to-face conversations in any language, with subtitles. The tool offers two convenient viewing modes so each person can follow the translations easily on a single device.

With DeepL Voice, DeepL expands its portfolio of trusted language and communication tools, available through the company’s AI language platform. Over 100,000 businesses and governments around the world already trust the platform for accuracy and security. To ensure the high levels of quality and accuracy required for professional use that DeepL is known for, this new voice technology is powered by AI models trained on diverse datasets that account for different accents and environments.

DeepL Voice is now available to businesses worldwide and already supports the following spoken languages (with more to come): English, German, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Dutch, French, Turkish, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Italian, with translated subtitles available in all 33 languages supported by DeepL Translator.

The launch of DeepL Voice was the highlight of DeepL Dialogues, a new exclusive conference from DeepL, held on November 13 in Berlin . The audience was able to watch a live demo, hear from customers who participated in the beta, and see how the solutions can help them overcome the language barrier in their business communications.

Christine Aubry , Internationalization Coordinator at Brioche Pasquier , a client who participated in the DeepL Voice beta phase and was present at DeepL Dialogues, explains: “Before DeepL Voice, our biggest challenge was to involve our international sites in company projects. With DeepL Voice for meetings, we were really able to bring our teams closer together, bridge the gap between our sites and thus foster collaboration and teamwork. I have already tested other tools, but they generally only support one language in meetings. DeepL Voice is really different and by far the most complete tool I have tried.”
