KMS Technology has introduced Troy Cantrell as its new Field Chief Technology Officer, adding a technology leader with 25 years of enterprise experience to help organizations move AI initiatives from ideas and prototypes into production.
In the new role, Cantrell will work with enterprise leaders and KMS delivery teams on what the company describes as “Enterprise Execution” an approach focused on turning AI-native strategies into validated, production-ready business outcomes. His responsibilities will include identifying business challenges, developing outcome-focused technology roadmaps, and establishing the controls and measurements needed to move AI projects into operational environments.
Cantrell’s background spans large-scale ERP programs, ServiceNow implementations and AI and innovation initiatives. His experience has centered on the challenges organizations face after technology goes live, including whether systems perform reliably and whether employees can effectively use them in day-to-day operations.

The appointment comes as enterprises accelerate the development of generative AI applications, code and agentic workflows. While these technologies can shorten development cycles, organizations also face greater requirements around governance, security, validation and operational reliability.
KMS’s Enterprise Execution approach brings engineering, quality, governance and operations into the technology lifecycle rather than treating validation as a final stage of a project. Cantrell will also contribute to the development of KMS playbooks covering how AI and software initiatives are identified, prioritized, built, validated, measured and continuously improved.
The role also reflects a broader shift in the responsibilities of technology leaders. Rather than focusing solely on technology roadmaps, Field CTOs increasingly work across business and engineering teams to connect technology investments with measurable outcomes.
For Cantrell, the focus will be on helping organizations address real operational constraints, legacy environments and production requirements as they expand their use of AI.
