Accenture announced an expansion of its strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to create Accenture Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platform powered by AWS to help organizations adopt and scale AI rapidly with trust and confidence throughout their enterprise.

The rapid rise of AI has created unique challenges and implications for business leaders who must balance AI risks, such as bias and hallucinations, and implement compliance requirements with new and evolving AI regulations. According to Accenture research, only 2% of companies have fully operationalized responsible AI across their organizations.

“Our work with AWS is focused on helping our clients establish and embed responsible AI at scale, closing the gap between principles and action,” said Arnab Chakraborty, chief responsible AI officer, Accenture. “For the first time, Accenture plans to offer comprehensive end-to-end services spanning AI governance setup, AI risk assessment, generative AI testing, ongoing compliance support, regulation management and security for AWS workloads.”

Accenture Responsible AI Platform powered by AWS will integrate the core elements of responsible AI to help clients create an ongoing cycle of monitoring, testing and remediating for compliance throughout the enterprise. Tuned for AWS workloads, it offers a unified view of assets, open-source tools and industry standards for responsible AI to help organizations seamlessly incorporate them into their workflows and processes. Delivered through an intuitive user journey with sequential steps, the platform allows business leaders to assess their organization’s readiness or maturity level for AI and perform risk screenings leveraging benchmark data from multiple industries.

The new platform will help enable clients to easily understand what they need to do in order to identify specific AI risks, develop appropriate risk mitigation approaches and support compliance with specific fast-changing regulations. This is especially relevant with the accelerated pace of generative AI pilots and technology advancements.

“With our expanded collaboration, Accenture Responsible Artificial Intelligence Platform powered by AWS will help customers adopt and scale AI rapidly and with confidence,” said Vasi Philomin, vice president of generative AI at AWS. “This platform will make it easier for customers to use our growing portfolio of responsible AI solutions, and provide a holistic assessment as well as ongoing monitoring and testing to help clients with their compliance obligations in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment. With Accenture, we are empowering more customers to experiment and innovate safely with generative AI.”

Accenture Responsible AI Platform powered by AWS brings together Accenture’s curated learnings from more than 1,000 generative AI client projects, from its own responsible AI program for approximately 750,000 people serving clients across 120 countries, and from collaboration with AWS in responsible AI. It combines Accenture’s proven best practices and proprietary responsible AI framework with AWS’ leading portfolio of AI services including Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker, alongside solutions like AWS Control Tower, Amazon DataZone and AWS observability tools.

As one of the industry’s first and most comprehensive responsible AI frameworks with end-to-end capabilities, Accenture Responsible AI Platform powered by AWS includes five offerings to help clients establish and implement policies, principles and standards:

  • AI governance and principles
  • AI risk assessment
  • Systemic responsible AI testing and risk mitigation
  • Monitoring and compliance support
  • Enterprise impact including workforce, sustainability, and privacy and security

Today’s announcement builds on Accenture’s ongoing work with AWS in AI, through the Accenture AWS Business Group. Most recently, Accenture and AWS joined forces with Anthropic to scale AI responsibly. In November, Accenture and AWS shared plans to use Amazon Q in order to help clients develop software and modernize application environments faster. Last June, Accenture and AWS announced a strategic collaboration to help clients leverage the value of large language models and generative AI for faster business transformation on AWS, including a responsible AI blueprint.
