LumApps has appointed Sébastien Cano as its incoming Chief Executive Officer, with the leadership transition set to take effect on December 1, 2026. Founder and current CEO Sébastien Ricard will move into the role of Executive Chairman, remaining involved in the company’s long-term strategy and governance.
Cano announced the move on LinkedIn, saying he will be based in Austin, Texas, and take responsibility for the company’s day-to-day leadership from December. His appointment comes as LumApps enters a new phase focused on its employee experience platform, global operations and the growing integration of artificial intelligence into workplace technology.
Cano brings more than two decades of experience in enterprise software and technology leadership. Before joining LumApps, he held senior executive positions at Thales and Gemalto, where his work included international operations and business expansion. His background places him at the intersection of enterprise technology, global growth and organizational transformation.

At LumApps, Cano is expected to focus on advancing the company’s Workhub product roadmap and increasing its value for organizations operating across different industries and employee groups. He has also highlighted the role of AI in helping close the gap between enterprise AI availability and actual employee adoption.
The leadership change comes as employee experience platforms are evolving beyond traditional intranets. Organizations are increasingly looking for technology that can connect workplace communication, information, productivity tools and workflows while also providing controlled access to AI capabilities.
LumApps says its platform now serves more than 10 million users and integrates with major workplace ecosystems including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. The company is also incorporating AI agents into enterprise workflows, reflecting the broader shift toward AI-enabled digital workplaces.
For the enterprise technology sector, Cano’s appointment highlights how AI is becoming part of the broader employee experience conversation. The next challenge for workplace technology providers is not simply introducing AI, but ensuring employees can use it effectively while organizations maintain appropriate governance and control.
