Coco Robotics announced a research collaboration with OpenAI aimed at advancing both AI and robotics. As part of this endeavor, Coco and OpenAI will share insights gained from more than half a million remotely monitored and piloted deliveries, and AI technology used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide, respectively.

“AI is already a big part of our digital life, but the physical world has been largely untouched,” said Zach Rash, CEO of Coco Robotics. “Working with OpenAI brings us closer to robotic delivery that’s truly autonomous, ultra-reliable, and more affordable.”

Coco Robotics has significant experience dealing with complex and dynamic urban environments, and the company’s insights will help AI models continue to learn about novel situations. OpenAI’s models are today used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide, are multimodal, and can play a meaningful role in advancing robotics research.

The research collaboration will help the continued development of scalable, intelligent robotics that can safely and efficiently navigate urban environments.
