Datavault AI has appointed Frank Deo as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of its Acoustic Sciences Division, reinforcing its leadership team as the company focuses on expanding its engineering capabilities and improving operational efficiency.

Deo brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as Vice President of New Media Technology at API Media, where he led engineering efforts for the ADIO platform. In his new position, he will oversee engineering operations across the division, which develops technologies including ADIO, WiSA, Event Citadel, and API Media solutions for spatial audio, data-over-sound communication, and live event applications.

One of Deo’s primary responsibilities will be integrating engineering workflows across four operating companies within the Acoustic Sciences Division. The initiative aims to create a unified technology stack, standardize engineering processes, and expand the use of AI-assisted software development tools. By reducing complexity and improving collaboration between teams, Datavault AI expects to accelerate product development while supporting future growth.

The leadership appointment comes as Datavault AI continues evaluating a potential spin-out of its Acoustic Sciences Division into a standalone public company, a proposal that remains subject to board approval and other regulatory requirements. While that process is ongoing, the company is focusing on strengthening its engineering foundation and preparing its technology operations for long-term scalability.

The move reflects a broader industry trend in which technology companies are increasingly investing in engineering leadership and AI-powered development practices to improve efficiency, simplify software architecture, and support innovation across expanding product portfolios. As organizations continue modernizing their engineering operations, leadership appointments such as this highlight the growing importance of scalable technology management in driving future business growth.
