With this, Keysight Technologies and Point2 Technology have formed a strategic alliance, which is aimed at validating the features of the latter’s next-generation multi-terabit e-Tube interconnect technology, which is intended to eliminate connectivity bottlenecks that are apparent within artificial intelligence and machine learning scale-up data center infrastructure, while employing the advanced high-speed digital testing technologies that are offered by Keysight, including the M8050A High-Performance Bit Error Ratio Tester (BERT) and DCA-X Sampling Oscilloscopes, so that hyperscale infrastructure requirements are met, where Point2 Technology’s e-Tube interconnect utilizes RF data transmission as part of a plastic waveguide that is “10x longer distance reach than copper at equivalent cost; 3x lower in power, cost, and 1,000x lower latency when compared to optics,” while providing infrastructure designers a more power-efficient solution that is compact enough to address power problems that define xPU scaling challenges, all of which could, in theory, eliminate the connectivity limitations that are currently inherent, as the features of this interconnect solution enable research and development of 3.2T interfaces of this solution using Keysight’s proprietary 448 Gbps electrical signal generator and sophisticated analysis techniques to develop the complex 120 GBaud PAM4 signals necessary to deliver 1.6 Terabit speeds.
