Accenture and AWS Drive Next-Gen Enterprise Data Transformation via Agentic AI

Related stories

In the modern enterprise landscape, treating data as a strategic asset defines competitive advantage, yet many organizations struggle with unmapped data estates, unknown lineages, and siloed architectures that paralyze their artificial intelligence initiatives. To close this critical readiness gap between technical ambition and actual business impact, Accenture and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have introduced three pioneering agentic AI solutions, now available in the AWS Marketplace. Purpose-built to optimize data for generative AI applications, these complementary yet independent solutions autonomously discover, migrate, govern, and consume complex enterprise data across its entire lifecycle. Breaking down the data transformation process into four distinct phases assess and discover, capture, curate, and consume the offering allows organizations to launch multiple parallel workstreams rather than forcing them into traditional, rigid sequential execution. Leading the portfolio is Accenture Agentic Data Discovery for AWS, which deploys intelligent agents to seamlessly scan metadata across schemas, databases, and ETL code to maintain a continuously updated data inventory.

This tool addresses critical visibility issues by classifying data as active or inactive, uncovering hidden structural patterns, providing progressive graph visualizations of end-to-end data lineage across on-premises and cloud infrastructures, and detecting sensitive PII or PHI. Furthermore, it features an intuitive conversational AI interface that empowers architects and data stewards to query their entire data landscape using natural language instead of complex SQL. Real-world implementation underscores the immediate financial and operational value of this collaboration; an early Accenture customer utilizing the Data Discovery framework achieved a remarkable 50% inventory rationalization by weeding out inactive assets, successfully consolidated 25% of their total inventory through detailed similarity analysis across code and business intelligence assets, and executed an extensive technical analysis of over 1,400 legacy reports. Rounding out the suite, Accenture Agentic Data Modernization automates source code ingestion and platform migrations, while Accenture Agentic Semantic Layer federates multi-platform data access without requiring costly, centralized data repositories.
