Years-long collaboration of co-development and shared innovation delivers a unified experience for joint customers based on advanced integrations between Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud and the Azure ecosystem

Informatica, an enterprise cloud data management leader, announced deeper integrations across the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. The latest milestones will deliver seamless access to data capabilities for millions of global Azure customers. The co-developments were unveiled at Microsoft Ignite, the annual developer and IT professionals conference underway in Seattle.

“We’ve spent the last several years working with the Microsoft Azure team to deliver unified experiences, and develop deeply integrated data, analytics and AI-powered solutions that are true differentiators for joint customers,” said Jitesh Ghai, Chief Product Officer at Informatica. “This collaboration, and an unrelenting customer obsession, continues to drive significant momentum within the Azure ecosystem.”

Generative AI Integration: CLAIRE GPT Uses the Power of Azure OpenAI Service

Informatica collaborated with Microsoft engineering and the Azure OpenAI Service team to use the relevancy and accuracy of their large language models to develop CLAIRE GPT, launched at Informatica World 2023 as the next generation, generative AI version of its benchmark AI engine, CLAIRE. CLAIRE GPT provides a natural language interface to data and Intelligent Data Management Cloud, transforming how users discover, understand, govern, and consume data through simple conversational interactions. Building in fine-tuned Azure OpenAI Service models allows CLAIRE GPT users access to state-of-the-art data management code generation as well as comprehensive systems for responsible AI required for enterprise use cases.

Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud’s (IDMC) Data Quality as a native-workload on Microsoft Fabric

As one of the first ISV design partners for Microsoft Fabric, Informatica’s IDMC will offer rich data management capabilities to Microsoft Fabric users as a native application on the next-generation data analytics platform. This means IDMC capabilities will be directly embedded and available as a unified experience within Microsoft Fabric. Customers will be able to discover and use key data management solutions – specifically data profiling, quality, observability, and integration capabilities – to build trusted data to power Fabric analytics workloads. IDMC, as a native application on Fabric, is expected to be generally available in the first half of 2024.

Additionally, Informatica has also built high-scale, high-performance IDMC connectors for Fabric OneLake, Lakehouse and DataWarehouse to serve customers’ analytics use cases. These connectors allow more seamless data ingestion to build a trusted, single source of truth, support delta parquet and SQL endpoints and drive real-time analytics within the Fabric platform.

“Access to high quality, trusted and mastered data is vital for the delivery of world-class experience for our patients,” said Joe Nguyen, System VP of Data and Analytics, SSM Health. “Informatica’s Claire AI engine will allow us to get a better understanding of the quality of the data in our platform and answer more intelligent questions with trust and confidence. The innovations of Informatica and Microsoft together enables SSM Health to derive unique insights and helps us to create long term value for our Mission to provide high-quality care to our patients.”

“As we’ve advanced our relationship with Informatica over the last few years, it’s flourished into a strong collaboration built on co-innovation and a shared goal to enhance the experience for Microsoft Azure customers,” said Arun Ulagaratchagan, Corporate Vice President of Azure Data at Microsoft. “Using Microsoft Fabric and Azure OpenAI Service, the integration of this data management cloud as a native service across the expanding Azure landscape means our users will have its considerable data capabilities at their fingertips as they look to confidently tackle their AI and analytics use cases.”
