Fujitsu and Palantir Expand Global Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Sovereign Enterprise AI Transformation

Related stories

There is good news for enterprises around the world that need digital transformation and better AI capability, since Fujitsu Limited and Palantir Technologies Inc. have formally renewed and expanded on the strategic partnership between them.

The key details from the new agreement include Fujitsu entering into a commercial arrangement with Palantir Technologies Japan K.K. to work with Palantir Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) and Palantir Foundry. Most importantly, Fujitsu will extend its role as a certified Global Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) partner, using its technology in collaboration with the Palantir platform framework.

Addressing the Need for Data Sovereignty and AI Control

With the increase in the need for data governance, compliance, and operational sovereignty, it becomes imperative for an organization to have full control of their internal data models, infrastructure, and operational environments. The unique enterprise software from Palantir integrates the fundamental AI models with access controls, ontology-based workflows, auditing, and custom deployment environments.

With such an architecture, Fujitsu and Palantir allow their customers to leverage their AI initiatives without any risk of divulging their crucial assets.

Proven Value Creation: $10 Million Saved in Supply Chain Operations

The effectiveness of the joint initiative is demonstrated through a recent supply chain optimization deployment for a prominent Japanese enterprise manufacturer.

By integrating operational data across 18 manufacturing facilities, more than 3,000 global suppliers, and multiple legacy enterprise systems, Fujitsu deployed Palantir’s platform without disrupting active production cycles. The project yielded immediate, measurable results:

  • Cost Efficiency: Generated over $10 million in direct operational cost savings within 12 months.
  • Productivity: Doubled overall operational efficiency across involved business units.
  • Agility: Dramatically accelerated real-time decision-making and supply chain disruption response times.

Scaling Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) Capabilities Globally

To support adoption across international markets, Fujitsu is allocating substantial resources to expand its team of specialized Forward Deployed Engineers. The tech leader is fusing Palantir AIP and Foundry with its own proprietary AI technology portfolio including “Takane,” Fujitsu’s specialized large language model (LLM) alongside domain expertise from its global Fujitsu Uvance business offerings.

This unified approach allows enterprises to develop custom, production-grade AI solutions built directly into highly secure, sovereign system architectures.

“This partnership is about bringing Palantir’s sovereign AI architecture to Fujitsu’s customers across Japan,” said Kevin Kawasaki, Global Head of Business Development at Palantir Technologies. “Fujitsu is investing in the deployed engineering capabilities needed to help enterprises build custom AI applications and models on AIP and Foundry, grounded in their own data, workflows, and governed within their own operational environments.”

Yoshinami Takahashi, Corporate Executive Officer, Corporate Vice President, COO, Fujitsu Limited said, “Through our strategic partnership with Palantir since 2020, Fujitsu has strengthened its ability to translate data and AI into tangible business outcomes. FDE professionals have attracted increasing attention in recent years, but we understand that Palantir pioneered and established this concept. Through our collaboration with Palantir, Fujitsu has learned the role of FDEs, how they create value, and the engineering and other capabilities they require. Based on this knowledge, we have built an FDE framework capable of rapidly delivering results at customer sites, going beyond the simple introduction of technology. Fujitsu’s FDE professionals have also earned recognition from customers not only in Japan but overseas, giving us confidence that their expertise and execution capabilities are globally competitive. Through this expanded collaboration, we will bring together the knowledge and execution capabilities of both companies to help more customers translate AI transformation into tangible and sustainable outcomes.”

Driving Sustainable Growth Across Modern Enterprises

In the future, Fujitsu and Palantir will carry out customer engagements jointly in Japan, North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions. The collaboration between the two aims at increasing digital maturity through the connection of operational data and enterprise artificial intelligence in the frontline through the Fujitsu Uvance platform.
