- Quantum-Proof Encryption: Designed to counter “harvest now, decrypt later” quantum computing threats, this advanced encryption technology secures long-term data confidentiality across all major NetBackup communication paths, including encrypted data in transit, server-side deduplication, and client-side deduplication.
- Expanded User Behavior Monitoring: Enhances security by identifying a wider range of anomalous user actions. This proactive monitoring can detect and mitigate threats even if attackers gain access to administrative credentials with malicious intent.
- Advanced Risk Scoring: Strengthens data security by automatically applying recommended configurations for critical security settings. Suspicious modifications to system configurations are dynamically intercepted with multi-factor authentication to prevent malicious changes.
- Extended Cloud Support: Enhances protection for additional cloud workloads while improving backup efficiency with reduced backup windows. The latest update expands PaaS workload coverage, including Yugabyte, Amazon DocumentDB, Amazon Neptune, Azure Cosmos DB (Cassandra and Table API), Amazon RDS Custom for SQL Server and Oracle Snapshots, and Azure DevOps/GitHub/GitLab. Additionally, NetBackup 11.0 facilitates image replication and disaster recovery from cloud archive tiers such as Amazon S3 Glacier and Azure Archive.
