Hitachi and Mission Critical Group Form Strategic Partnership to Expand Global Data Center Infrastructure and Accelerate Deployment

Memorandum of understanding has been signed between Hitachi, Ltd., and Mission Critical Group (MCG) for creating strategic partnership. This partnership is based on the development of solutions for expansion of HMAX Data Center family offered by Hitachi and cross-selling opportunities in the area of energy and power infrastructures provided by both Hitachi and MCG.

This alliance has solved the problems of speed-to-market and reliability through the combination of physical AI and digital architecture of Hitachi and modular power systems and low to medium voltage infrastructure of MCG.

Resolving Bottlenecks in the AI-Driven Data Center Boom

The fast acceptance of artificial intelligence all over the world has resulted in high demand for computational capabilities. Long timeframes required to provide conventional electrical equipment have become one of the biggest problems in building projects. In order to solve the problem of delays, hyperscalers and colocation firms are using more and more modular data centers. Engineering, manufacturing, and testing of such data centers are conducted in a controlled environment, which makes the construction process much shorter. Global market for modular data center infrastructure is estimated to grow at around 20% annually.

Key Focus Areas of the Collaboration

The partnership brings together complementary strengths across three core strategic initiatives:

  • End-to-End Energy Infrastructure (High-, Medium-, and Low-Voltage): Leveraging their combined global reach, Hitachi Energy and MCG aim to deliver end-to-end power infrastructure solutions. The companies will pursue joint cross-selling initiatives and co-develop modular data center projects that link high-voltage grid connections down to low-voltage delivery.
  • HMAX Data Center Portfolio Expansion: The companies plan to integrate Hitachi’s digital technologies including real-time data collection and AI analytics—directly into MCG’s modular equipment. This setup enables digital connectivity immediately upon installation. Co-developed solutions will focus on automated equipment monitoring, predictive analytics, maintenance workflows, and facility-wide energy management.
  • Smart Manufacturing Capabilities: MCG will incorporate digital transformation and automation technologies from the Hitachi Group, such as HMAX Industry, into its manufacturing operations to boost production efficiency across its fabrication sites.
