SUPERWISE Introduces Sentinel to Secure and Govern Enterprise LLM Traffic at the Network Edge

Related stories

The company behind the Agentic Management Platform called SUPERWISE has announced the release of Sentinel, a robust AI gateway that will help govern and impose control measures over the LLM traffic for enterprises.

This AI platform can be deployed either as a gateway that sits at the edge of the network or on individual end-user devices to secure enterprise data, including customer data, from any potential threats by removing sensitive data such as credentials, personally identifiable information, and toxic data.

Addressing the Shadow AI Visibility Gap

In the midst of the rapid adoption of generative AI across companies and IT teams, there is a significant problem with IT and security teams’ lack of visibility into how employees and applications interact with LLMs. Sentinel solves this challenge by offering a control plane, which enables security and compliance professionals to determine acceptable practices around AI.

Built to address specific weaknesses from the OWASP LLM Top 10, including prompt injections, data leakages, jailbreaks, and unsafe outputs, Sentinel works on any type of AI models and providers including OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini. It is easily installed through Docker, CLI, and existing container clusters without changing the application code.

“Every team we talk to is already using AI, whether IT knows about it or not. That’s the reality we built Sentinel for,” said Russ Blattner, CEO of SUPERWISE. “Organizations don’t need another policy document telling people what not to do with AI; they need a system that sees the traffic and enforces the policy in real time. Sentinel gives security teams that visibility without slowing engineering down, and it keeps the customer’s data inside their own perimeter the entire time.”

Operational Architecture & Technical Overview

Sentinel operates on a streamlined three-phase model:

  1. Deploy: Install a lightweight Sentinel proxy at the network edge or local device.
  2. Route: Direct internal LLM and AI prompt traffic through the proxy layer.
  3. Govern: Automatically inspect, redact, and log interactions in real time.

Utilizing a split-plane architecture, Sentinel keeps all raw inputs and generated responses strictly contained within the customer’s private network infrastructure. Simultaneously, a sanitized Activity Log streams redacted interaction metadata for compliance tracking, producing an auditable trail directly mapped to established OWASP LLM security benchmarks.

Deployment & Availability

SUPERWISE Sentinel is commercially available immediately. Technical teams can install the CLI (requiring Python 3.11+) and configure a gateway within minutes, or connect with SUPERWISE directly for enterprise-wide rollouts and customized demonstrations.
