The companies Embedder and SEGGER have come up with a collaboration that is set to help bring about advancement in the process of developing autonomous firmware through the provision of access to SEGGER’s market leading J-Link and J-Trace debugger probes for Embedder’s AI coding agent. The collaboration provides the opportunity for the AI coding agent to develop, test, flash, and debug firmware right on physical target hardware, which creates an important breakthrough in embedded software engineering since the process of verifying and fixing code can now be done autonomously until code works properly on real devices. They can analyze existing firmware, investigate unexpected behavior, identify bugs, and help develop and verify solutions. In embedded systems, however, this requires direct access to the real target hardware.
