Experian has introduced Experian Activate™, an advanced AI-enabled decisioning engine integrated directly into Experian Marketplace, its consumer comparison-shopping platform for credit cards, personal loans, and auto insurance. The platform connects more than 90 million members to personalized financial products by combining traditional credit data, AI capabilities, lender-specific underwriting criteria, and consumer-permissioned cash flow insights including Experian Cashflow Attributes™ in a single real-time session. Unlike conventional marketplaces relying on periodic or pre-screened data refreshes, Experian Activate evaluates applicants instantaneously while they actively shop, extending this real-time credit intelligence across third-party channels such as ChatGPT.

As Rakesh Patel, Executive Vice President, Experian Marketplace at Experian, noted, “Experian Activate brings together the full power of Experian’s data, analytics, marketplace reach and AI capabilities to create a more intelligent lending experience.” By allowing borrowers to securely link bank accounts and leverage tools like Experian Boost®, lenders gain a complete view of applicant financial health, effectively opening financial access to historically under-offered individuals. Echoing this sentiment, Ashley Knight, Senior Vice President of Product Management, Financial Services and Data at Experian, highlighted, “Cash flow data is transforming how we understand consumer behavior, assess risk and open doors for consumers who have been historically left out of the mainstream financial ecosystem.” This launch directly addresses market demand, as recent survey data shows 60% of previously declined borrowers believe outcomes would improve if recent income and banking activity were considered alongside traditional credit history.
