In a major moves-and-motion step for semiconductor and enterprise technology architectures, NVIDIA and MediaTek announced an expanded collaboration to codevelop next-generation AI computing platforms across cloud infrastructure, local AI devices, and automotive applications. As part of the agreement, MediaTek will be using the NVIDIA NVLink Fusion technology, thus providing a prevalidated path to design customized XPUs in rack-scale AI factories that are linked by NVLink technology. The collaboration takes advantage of NVIDIA’s technologies in accelerated computing, AI software, and graphics, as well as MediaTek’s expertise in the design and manufacture of SoCs. Beyond enterprise cloud infrastructure, the alliance targets local AI computing through products like NVIDIA RTX Spark and DGX Spark PC chips for consumer devices, workstations, and developer systems, while also furthering multi-generational designs for AI-defined, software-driven vehicles.
