Postman, the top API collaboration platform, announced major product updates. These upgrades will help businesses build APIs that fit the needs of AI systems.
As software architecture increasingly evolves from standalone applications to intelligent AI agents, enterprises confront a pressing challenge: these agents are only as capable as the APIs they leverage. While APIs deliver the contextual data that underpins AI intelligence, many organizations still struggle with governance, visibility and consistency factors which undermine trust when APIs are consumed by AI systems.

According to Postman’s 2025 State of the API Report, fewer than 40 % of organizations enforce centralized governance standards; furthermore, although more than half of APIs are internal, many lack consistent documentation and visibility limiting how effectively AI systems can interpret and act on them.
“We’ve reached a pivotal moment in the AI transition,” said Balaji Raghavan, Head of Engineering at Postman. “Enterprises are realizing that their APIs are not yet AI-ready. Today’s updates establish the governance, automation, and observability needed to make APIs safe, reliable, and discoverable by both humans and AI systems, without slowing down developer velocity.”
Key Enhancements for AI-Ready APIs
Postman’s latest feature enhancements deliver enterprise-grade capabilities to transform API programmes into AI-capable infrastructure:
-
Spec Hub: the governance backbone for AI-ready APIs. Postman now introduces bidirectional spec synchronisation, modular multi-file specifications and new governance reporting enabling large development teams to standardise design and governance across every API.
-
Pipeline-native validation for every API. With Private API Runners (Early Access) and On-Demand Monitors, Postman now extends its trusted testing framework to deployment-time gates and internal environments so every change is validated in real-world conditions. Integrations with Slack and Microsoft Teams enable test results and alerts to surface where teams already collaborate, speeding responses and ensuring reliability across every release.
-
Unified visibility and control. The new Runner Management capability gives platform administrators full insight into API test automation activity, health and access unlocking enterprise scale without compromising compliance or security.
-
Developer velocity without friction. Enhancements to the Postman CLI, a redesigned Home experience and the Collection Status Indicator help reduce context-switching and improve coordination across API design, testing and deployment. Teams can stay in flow and deliver high-quality APIs faster, without sacrificing the simplicity and usability they already trust.
Together, these capabilities position Postman as the enterprise ‘control plane’ for the modern API ecosystem whether public or private, human- or AI-driven. As AI systems continue to evolve from tools into intelligent agents, the Postman platform is presented as critical infrastructure for this next wave of innovation.
