Augmentus Gains Applied Ventures Backing to Boost AI Robotics

Singaporean deep-tech firm Augmentus Pte Ltd, expert in AI-based adaptive automation, has received a strategic investment from Applied Ventures, LLC, the venture capital arm of Applied Materials, Inc., to drive its vision of making intelligent, autonomous robots throughout high-mix, high-variability manufacturing environments. At the core of Augmentus’s offering is its AutoPath™ robotics platform, which combines sophisticated 3D vision and adaptive intelligence to allow robots to create point-clouds of intricate geometries, calculate tool-paths in real time, and optimize motion in real time all without needing to be programmed by experts or manually taught. “We envision giving factories the ability to change as fast as the world is changing,” stated Augmentus Co-Founder & CEO Daryl Lim. With the backing of Applied Ventures, we are racing toward a future in which robots can see, comprehend, and act injecting agility, accuracy, and resilience into manufacturing worldwide.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Augmentus will use the funding to expand its U.S. operations based in Austin, Texas, increase commercial deployments in industries including aerospace, automotive, energy and heavy industry, and continue to build out its no-code, AI-driven automation platform that shortens setup time from hours to minutes. The partnership marks a wider movement in advanced manufacturing toward variability and complexity-capable automation systems over the long-established fixed-programming robots, placing Augmentus at the forefront of the increasing worldwide demand for flexible, smart robotics in production settings.
