The fully managed Apache Iceberg solution offers real-time scalability, five times faster queries, and cross-engine access – at up to 50% lower costs

Qlik has launched its Open Lakehouse, a fully managed Apache Iceberg solution integrated into Qlik Talend Cloud, aiming to address the limitations of traditional data architectures. Designed for enterprises seeking rapid scalability and cost efficiency, the platform offers real-time data capture, automated optimization, and multi-engine interoperability without vendor lock-in or additional operational overhead. Qlik Open Lakehouse delivers 2.5 to 5 times faster query performance and up to 50% lower infrastructure costs, ensuring compatibility with leading analytics and machine learning engines. Mike Capone, CEO of Qlik, stated, “Leistung und Kosten sollten in modernen Datenarchitekturen kein Kompromiss mehr sein.”

The solution features enterprise-scale real-time data ingestion from diverse sources, an always-on adaptive Iceberg optimizer for enhanced query speed and reduced storage costs, and seamless access through various Iceberg-compatible engines like Snowflake, Amazon Athena, Apache Spark, Trino, and SageMaker. Operating natively within a user’s AWS VPC with Bring Your Own Compute (BYOC), it provides full control over performance, security, and costs. Matt Aslett, Director of Research at ISG Software Research, noted, “Qlik Open Lakehouse nutzt offene Standards wie Apache Iceberg und ist damit gut positioniert, um die wachsende Nachfrage nach Echtzeit-Datenzugriff und Multi-Engine-Interoperabilität zu erfüllen.” This launch signifies Qlik’s commitment to empowering organizations with scalable, flexible, and high-performance data solutions tailored for modern analytics and AI workloads.
