Quantum Corporation has appointed Mike Heuer as its new Chief Information Officer, effective immediately, placing him in charge of the company’s global information technology organization.
In the role, Heuer will oversee enterprise applications, data, artificial intelligence adoption, infrastructure and cybersecurity as Quantum continues to strengthen its technology operations. The appointment brings more than 30 years of technology leadership experience to the company.
Heuer joins Quantum from Legence, a Blackstone portfolio company, where he served as CIO and built the organization’s IT function while supporting growth through more than 20 acquisitions. Before Legence, he was Head of Global Information Technology at Blackhawk Network, where he led the deployment of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management platforms across North America, Europe and Asia.

Earlier in his career, Heuer held technology leadership positions at Peet’s Coffee, Blue Shield of California and Applied Materials. His experience has covered enterprise applications, infrastructure and digital transformation. He began his career in Accenture’s artificial intelligence practice.
Heuer’s appointment comes as data-intensive businesses increasingly connect IT modernization with artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. For organizations managing large volumes of unstructured data, CIOs are being tasked with balancing infrastructure modernization, AI adoption, security and operational efficiency.
At Quantum, Heuer has identified advanced data analytics and AI as areas where he intends to accelerate digital initiatives. His focus will include building scalable technology capabilities that support decision-making and operational improvements while aligning IT strategy with broader business objectives.
The move reflects the expanding responsibilities of the modern CIO, with technology leadership increasingly extending beyond traditional infrastructure management into AI strategy, data management, cybersecurity and enterprise transformation.
