MoEngage Acquires Aampe for Personalized B2C Decisions

MoEngage, the agentic customer engagement platform trusted by more than 1,350 consumer brands worldwide, announced the acquisition of Aampe, a San Francisco-based AI infrastructure company that provides a dedicated, autonomous AI agent for each of a brand’s customers.

This acquisition marks a significant milestone in MoEngage’s journey as a global SaaS leader. It integrates Aampe’s native reinforcement learning engine into MoEngage, creating the first engagement platform where marketing workflow agents and decision-making agents acting on behalf of each user operate from a single, unified system, delivering true 1:1 personalization at scale.

Most personalization initiatives eventually reach their limits. As demand increases, so does the number of segments, journeys, experiences, and the resources required to manage them. Most decision-making tools often start from scratch with each new initiative, forcing teams to constantly redefine the context instead of building on their existing knowledge.

Thanks to its growing presence in the European market, MoEngage has become a trusted and responsible partner for consumer brands, which must contend with increasingly stringent data protection regulations and rising customer expectations for relevance. Aampe’s privacy-focused architecture, which stores no personally identifiable information and relies on anonymized behavioral models, adheres to the data minimization principles at the heart of global privacy regulations. This enables individual-level personalization without compromising user privacy. MoEngage continues its expansion in key global markets, helping consumer brands deliver personalized customer experiences at scale.

“Every marketing professional wants to deliver the right message to each user at the right time.” “It’s never been about ambition, but about infrastructure,” said Raviteja Dodda, co-founder and CEO of MoEngage. “Aampe has developed something that remains out of reach for the rest of the market: a system that continuously and collaboratively optimizes content, timing, channel, and frequency at the individual level. What has impressed me equally is the team behind this technology. Paul, Schaun, Sami, and the entire Aampe team masterfully combine in-depth research with rigorous implementation to tackle one of the most complex problems in marketing. Together, we are building the future of agentic marketing, and we are thrilled to have them on this journey with us.”

While MoEngage has invested heavily in AI-powered marketing workflows through its Merlin AI platform, Aampe brings highly specialized agentic decision-making capabilities that have already proven successful with some of the world’s most sophisticated consumer brands. Each agent decides what to say, when to say it, how often, and on which channel, tailoring its message to each audience and learning from every result. Marketing leaders define the content, objectives, and guidelines. The agents handle the rest, ensuring complete transparency on every decision made.

“Aampe is built on a strong belief: one agent per user, not one model per segment,” said Paul Meinshausen, Aampe co-founder and CEO. “A dedicated agent for each user allows for a sustainable and scalable approach to each customer, their habits, their content preferences, and what truly motivates them to take action. And because it relies on meaning rather than specific messages, everything it has learned is carried over to the next interaction. In other words, it never starts from scratch. MoEngage provides us with the infrastructure, channel coverage, and customer relationships necessary to make this the norm, not the exception, for all brands.”

As part of this acquisition, Aampe’s founding team (Paul Meinshausen, Schaun Wheeler, and Sami Abboud) will join MoEngage to lead its agentic decision-making initiatives. Aampe’s existing customers will continue to receive uninterrupted service and will benefit from the additional engineering, data science, and customer support resources provided by MoEngage.

Aampe’s agents work with major consumer brands, including Taxfix, ZenBusiness, Grab, and Swiggy. At scale, the platform leverages hundreds of millions of dedicated AI agents and processes over 200 billion decisions every week.

Taxfix, the first European AI platform dedicated to digital tax management, has deployed an agentic infrastructure, providing an AI agent per user rather than relying on static segments and flows.

“We tested Aampe alongside a rules-based CRM system that we had refined over four years. Aampe exceeded that target by 50%, achieved a 40% increase in revenue compared to a global benchmark group, and reached profitability in 30 days. When I compared the total cost of using Aampe to our advertising expenditure to achieve the same customer retention rate, Aampe proved to be 120 to 150 times more effective,” said Alex Beresford, Director of Growth at Taxfix.

This acquisition enables the implementation of what MoEngage calls the “Start Anywhere” approach. B2C brands can seamlessly integrate Aampe’s per-user agents into their existing customer engagement or marketing automation platforms. MoEngage customers benefit from Aampe natively, without any changes to their systems. Ultimately, empowering individual brand decision-making becomes accessible to all brands.

This initiative also brings together the AI labs of both companies around a common goal: to develop the next generation of agentic marketing, by providing Aampe’s research team with a production-scale context covering MoEngage’s entire global customer base, in order to accelerate the implementation of solutions that have already proven successful.
