Intel has finally unveiled its latest series of Intel Core™ Series 3 processors for mobile devices, which offer great advances in terms of speed, energy efficiency, and artificial intelligence implementation for cost-effective end users, business segments, and critical edge computing applications.
Crafted with a perfect combination of speed and affordability in mind, the Intel Core Series 3 line-up is based on the architectural breakthroughs seen in the previous generation of the processor, namely, the Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors (aka “Panther Lake”). The new chips are fabricated using Intel’s cutting-edge process called Intel 18A – the most advanced logic node ever created in America.
Josh Newman, General Manager and Vice President of Consumer PC, Client Computing Group, emphasized the strategic importance of this launch: “At a time when prices are rising and expectations are shifting, Intel Core Series 3 elevates value-orientated computing with exceptional battery life, boosted AI-ready performance, and broad ecosystem choice. By delivering the latest IP with modern, purpose designed silicon and right-sized performance, we’re expanding access to better technology that meets the real-world needs of students, families, small businesses, and edge deployments at a scale that no other company can match.”

A Major Leap for Legacy Users
The Intel Core Series 3 represents a prime upgrade path for home users and small businesses typically operating on a five-year hardware refresh cycle. Compared to a half-decade-old PC, these new processors deliver up to a 47% increase in single-thread performance and a 41% boost in multi-thread capabilities. Furthermore, with up to 2.8x better GPU AI performance, the series establishes a new standard for what entry-level and mainstream systems can achieve.
Technical Features and Specifications:
- Hybrid AI Readiness: This range serves as the first hybrid AI-ready processor by Intel, allowing for AI computations on up to 40 platform TOPS.
- Connectivity Support: It comes with connectivity capabilities like up to two Thunderbolt™ 4 Ports, Intel® Wi-Fi 7 (R2), and Intel® Bluetooth® 6.
- Energy Efficiency and Productivity: It is designed to last all day long, being twice more productive when creating content than previous Intel Core 7 150U processors and using 64% less processing power.
Expanding Innovation to the Edge
Beyond traditional laptops, Intel is bringing these advancements to the “essential edge.” The Intel Core Series 3 is optimized for diverse real-world applications including robotics, smart building management, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and smart metering. These chips offer a refined balance of AI capability and power efficiency, scaling from high-tier edge intelligence with integrated vision and speech acceleration down to cost-effective, reliable compute solutions.
In comparative benchmarks against the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano, the Intel Core 7 350 demonstrated its prowess by delivering up to 1.5x higher object detection performance, up to 1.9x faster image classification, and up to 2.2x better video analytics performance.
