NVIDIA and Foxconn Hon Hai Technology Group Strengthen Partnership to Launch Taiwan’s AI Factory Supercomputer

NVIDIA and Foxconn Hon Hai Technology Group have announced an expansion of their enduring collaboration, teaming up with the Taiwan government to develop a cutting-edge AI factory supercomputer. This initiative will bring the advanced NVIDIA Blackwell GPU infrastructure to researchers, startups, and industries across Taiwan, driving AI innovation nationwide.

Through its subsidiary Big Innovation Company, Foxconn will supply the AI infrastructure as an official NVIDIA Cloud Partner. Equipped with an impressive 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, this AI factory promises to greatly enhance the availability of AI computing power, accelerating breakthroughs for Taiwan’s research community and business sectors alike.

The Taiwan National Science and Technology Council will leverage the Big Innovation Company supercomputer to deliver AI cloud computing resources to the country’s vibrant technology ecosystem, fostering faster AI adoption and development across multiple industries.

TSMC researchers are also set to utilize this next-generation system to dramatically boost their R&D capabilities, achieving performance speeds far exceeding those of earlier systems.

“AI has ignited a new industrial revolution — science and industry will be transformed,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “We are delighted to partner with Foxconn and Taiwan to help build Taiwan’s AI infrastructure, and to support TSMC and other leading companies to advance innovation in the age of AI and robotics.”

“Foxconn builds technology that underpins modern life, and now, we’re building computing infrastructure to scale the next generation of breakthroughs across Taiwan,” said Young Liu, chairman and CEO of Foxconn. “By building this AI factory with NVIDIA and TSMC, we are laying the groundwork to connect people in Taiwan as well as government organizations and enterprises such as TSMC to accelerate innovation and empower industries.”

“At TSMC, innovation lies at the heart of everything we do. By harnessing advanced AI infrastructure, we empower our researchers to accelerate breakthroughs in semiconductor technology, enabling next-generation solutions for our customers and the world,” said Dr. C.C. Wei, chairman and CEO of TSMC. “Leveraging this AI factory reinforces our commitment to pushing the limits of AI-driven innovation.”

“Our plan is to create an AI-focused industrial ecosystem in southern Taiwan,” said Minister Wu Cheng-Wen of the National Science and Technology Council. “We are focused on investing in innovative research, developing a strong AI industry and encouraging the everyday use of AI tools. Our ultimate goal is to create a smart AI island filled with smart cities, and we look forward to collaborating with NVIDIA and Hon Hai to make this vision a reality.”

Foxconn’s Role as NVIDIA Cloud Partner Driving Regional AI Growth

The AI factory under Big Innovation Cloud will feature NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra systems, including the powerful NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 rack-scale solution integrated with NVIDIA NVLink™, Quantum InfiniBand, and Spectrum-X™ Ethernet networking technology.

In addition to becoming an NVIDIA Cloud Partner, Big Innovation Cloud will join the NVIDIA DGX Cloud Lepton™ marketplace, unveiled separately today. This platform will offer startups, research institutions, and industry leaders streamlined access to cutting-edge GPU resources, accelerating AI research and commercial deployment across Taiwan.

Furthermore, the AI factory will support startups and developers via the NVIDIA Inception program and NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute, fostering a robust ecosystem for AI-driven innovation.

Foxconn plans to utilize the AI supercomputer from Big Innovation Company to enhance automation and efficiency across three strategic sectors: smart cities, electric vehicles, and manufacturing. This vision aims to seamlessly connect industries, citizens, and government bodies, propelling Taiwan’s growth powered by AI.

  • Smart Cities: The AI infrastructure will optimize connected transportation and public services to improve the quality of life for Taiwanese residents.

  • Smart Electric Vehicles: Advanced driver-assistance systems and safety features will be enhanced through the AI-powered platform.

  • Manufacturing: AI-driven analytics, automation, and digital twin technology will streamline production processes and accelerate product development cycles.

This collaboration marks a pivotal step in Taiwan’s journey toward becoming a global AI innovation hub, combining NVIDIA’s technology leadership with Foxconn’s industrial expertise and strong governmental support.
