DEEPX, an innovator in on-device AI semiconductor technology, has revealed that its ultra-low-power Neural Processing Unit (NPU) is the driving force behind the newly unveiled Sixfab AI HAT+ for the Raspberry Pi 5. The advanced edge AI acceleration board was engineered by Sixfab, a prominent provider of edge AI hardware solutions and an Official Raspberry Pi Design Partner.
Distinguished by the “Intelligentized by DEEPX” branding, the newly launched product introduces high-performance, energy-efficient AI inference to the extensive Raspberry Pi 5 ecosystem. The collaboration aims to empower global developers and enterprises to architect and deploy real-time Physical AI applications directly at the edge.
Enhancing Edge Efficiency with Proprietary NPU Technology
The DEEPX AI HAT integrates specialized NPU technology designed to execute complex embedded AI models locally without relying on cloud connectivity. By striking a precise balance between computational throughput and minimal energy consumption, the hardware facilitates robust Physical AI inference in strictly power-constrained environments. Key applicable sectors include robotics, smart agriculture, and factory automation.
“The DEEPX AI HAT offers our global community of enterprise developers and makers a highly efficient path to scale edge AI applications,” said Roger Thornton, Director of Applications at Raspberry Pi.

Comprehensive Developer Ecosystem Expansion
To accelerate commercial integration across global industries, DEEPX is rolling out an extensive software and hardware support package, featuring developer-friendly SDKs. These software tools are optimized to streamline model compilation and facilitate instant deployment on edge devices.
Commenting on the industry shift toward localized intelligence, Lokwon Kim, CEO of DEEPX, stated, “The future of Physical AI does not reside within a handful of data centers; it belongs to the billions of devices, robots, and industrial endpoints in the real world.”
“By pairing Raspberry Pi’s versatility with our low-power NPU, we aim to drive the democratization of Physical AI so that anyone can build and deploy advanced AI solutions.” Kim added, “This launch is a cornerstone of our long-term strategy to cultivate future talent and developer ecosystems. DEEPX will expand collaborations with governments, academia, and industries worldwide to ultimately emerge as the definitive global standard platform for Physical AI.”
Market Availability and Future Outlook
The DEEPX AI HAT is scheduled for global release in the near future and will be accessible via authorized distribution channels. Looking ahead, DEEPX and Raspberry Pi intend to deepen their technical cooperation to further position the platform as a premier, enterprise-grade AI edge node.
