VMware, Inc., announced it has been positioned as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Distributed Hybrid Infrastructure. Gartner has named VMware a Leader in this category for this inaugural Magic Quadrant report. VMware views this recognition as further validation of VMware’s global strategy.

As modern organizations increasingly transition to the cloud, they quickly realize that trying to build and manage a distributed cloud environment with their existing data center infrastructure and operations tools is not simple. In fact, application development can result in a slower and more costly process given the need to re-platform or re-factor applications to support workload portability. VMware Cloud Foundation offers a simple path towards a hybrid cloud environment by using a common platform for both private and public clouds, eliminating challenges with compatibility.

“While the transition to multi-cloud has driven efficiency and innovation like never before, it has become increasingly more complex to manage,” said Krish Prasad, senior vice president and general manager, cloud infrastructure business group, VMware. “VMware Cloud Foundation combines innovations from VMware’s on-premises and public cloud software offerings into a unified stack to simplify operations and deliver a consistent environment. In recent years, we’ve continued to evolve the platform, including AI integration and improvements to the user experience and enhancements to security, to better help customers reach their business goals.”

VMware also scored highest in the 2023 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Distributed Hybrid Infrastructure report across all five defined Use Cases – Cloud Native Apps, Hybrid Infrastructure, Edge, Assured Workloads, and Multi-Cloud.
