Mirantis and Supermicro Accelerate Deployment of Sovereign AI and Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure

Related stories

Mirantis, a leader in Kubernetes-native infrastructure for artificial intelligence (AI), announced that Supermicro’s modular bare-metal GPU server platforms have been validated with Mirantis’ k0rdent software to streamline automated infrastructure operations for sovereign AI and hybrid GPU cloud environments.

This strategic validation equips data center integrators, hyperscale builders, and neocloud operators with a fully verified, Kubernetes-native hardware-software stack designed to support large-scale AI deployments and hybrid cloud workloads. It directly addresses the growing demand among enterprise IT teams to simplify GPU provisioning and infrastructure management, while improving utilization, governance, and compliance across AI environments.

The combined solution automates provisioning, lifecycle management, and orchestration across the AI stack transitioning deployments from manual configuration to fully automated infrastructure that operates “from Metal-to-Model.”

“AI infrastructure is becoming too complex to manage manually,” said Kevin Kamel, vice president of AI products, Mirantis.

“With k0rdent, organizations can move from assembling hardware components to composing fully automated AI platforms dramatically reducing deployment friction while maintaining control, performance, and compliance.”

By integrating Supermicro’s GPU nodes with Mirantis k0rdent automation and GPU operator-driven acceleration, organizations can consolidate legacy IT workloads and modern AI applications onto a unified bare-metal platform without sacrificing performance or security.

Angela Hood, CEO and founder, ThisWay Global, highlighted the real-world impact of this collaboration: “This is not just infrastructure, it is the foundation for sovereign-scale AI, accelerated research, and enterprise innovation.”

Hood noted that combining Mirantis’ k0rdent technology with Amalgamy.ai’s intelligent orchestration tools ensures that the compute cluster deployed for the Texas Tech University System delivers breakthrough performance and purpose-built capabilities for high-performance computing and AI research.

This milestone underscores both companies’ commitment to advancing open, scalable, and secure AI infrastructure that meets the needs of sovereign cloud deployments, enterprise AI factories, and next-generation hybrid cloud platforms.
