Cloudflare, a leading connectivity cloud company, has unveiled new enhancements to Cloudflare One, its Zero Trust platform, aimed at helping enterprises securely adopt, deploy, and scale generative AI applications. These updates enable organizations to automatically analyze, monitor, and set controls on how generative AI is used across teams boosting productivity and innovation while ensuring security and privacy remain uncompromised.

Generative AI is rapidly transforming workflows across departments, from finance and marketing to engineering and product design. While employees increasingly rely on AI tools to accelerate tasks and create new applications, many organizations face rising risks from unsanctioned or insecure use. Employees may inadvertently share sensitive company data with chatbots, or developers could roll out AI-driven apps without security team oversight. Cloudflare’s new capabilities are designed to eliminate these vulnerabilities, giving businesses the ability to embrace AI confidently with built-in security.

“Cloudflare is the best place to help any business roll out AI securely. We are the only company today that can offer the security of a Zero Trust platform with a full set of AI and inference development products all backed with the scale of a global network,” said Matthew Prince, CEO and co-founder at Cloudflare. “The world’s most innovative companies want to pull the AI lever to move, build and scale fast, without sacrificing security. We are in a unique position to help power that innovation–and help bring AI to all businesses safely.”

At the core of these advancements is the introduction of AI Security Posture Management (AI-SPM) within Cloudflare One. This new capability strengthens protection against the risks associated with widespread AI adoption while enabling teams to innovate at speed.

With AI-SPM, security leaders can now:

  • Discover how employees use AI: The new Shadow AI Report delivers real-time insights into organizational AI usage, allowing security teams to identify which AI applications employees are accessing and how they are being used.

  • Protect against Shadow AI: With Cloudflare Gateway, enterprises can enforce AI usage policies directly at the network edge. Teams can block unapproved AI tools, control data uploads, and review applications to ensure ongoing compliance with security and privacy standards.

  • Safeguard sensitive data without limiting AI adoption: AI Prompt Protection detects high-risk prompts and responses, enforcing policies inline at the prompt level. This allows security teams to mitigate risks such as employees attempting to share source code with untrusted providers without fully restricting AI usage.

  • Gain visibility into AI model interactions: The Zero Trust MCP Server Control centralizes oversight of all MCP tool requests, routing traffic through Cloudflare for greater control. This unified dashboard lets teams enforce user-level policies at both the gateway and server level.

With these new features, Cloudflare strengthens its position as a critical enabler for organizations looking to leverage generative AI responsibly. The company’s approach ensures that enterprises can scale AI innovation securely, maintaining control of sensitive data while empowering employees to explore the full potential of AI-driven tools.
