IoT solutions connectivity and security services company Aeris entered into a new IoT connectivity management services contract with Japanese telecommunications company KDDI Corporation, marking another step in an existing partnership that is built on the basis of providing secure and scalable IoT solutions around the world.
Such a deal has become quite significant in the ongoing cooperation between the two. Since 2017, KDDI had been availing itself of the IoT Accelerator services that were previously provided by Ericsson before it got acquired by Aeris in 2023. The signing of this agreement is yet another proof of the consistent use of the Aeris IoT Accelerator product, supporting over 104 million IoT devices and 42 million connected cars across the globe.
Since getting acquired, Aeris has invested a lot into the development of its services via upgrading the infrastructure, enabling cloud capabilities, enhancing performance, and forming strategic partnerships with connectivity providers around the world. Thanks to all of that, it has become possible to implement connected solutions in global markets using only one SKU.

Comprehensive IoT Capabilities for Enterprise Operations
The Aeris IoT Accelerator platform provides an array of connectivity management services that cater to complex and multi-industry large-scale deployments.
For automobile companies, the platform provides a global connectivity management service, which allows for efficient deployment and management of connected cars on a global level. This will help ensure consistency in the connectivity experience in spite of the different environments and regulations.
For utility companies, there is a comprehensive device management service that manages devices during their entire lifecycle, even after decades of usage, as is common for utilities.
The platform also comes with built-in security and diagnostics that offer real-time insight into device performance and connectivity health without the need to install any software on the devices. This makes operations more efficient as well as assists enterprises in bolstering their security management.
Furthermore, robust eSIM orchestration enables organizations to enjoy increased flexibility, control, and resiliency when deploying mission-critical applications.
Supporting the Next Phase of Global IoT Growth
Asia-Pacific has emerged as an essential contributor to the worldwide expansion of the IoT landscape due to the high adoption rate of technology across different industry verticals. As the global IoT market is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 21.7%, through 2033, firms are looking for robust solutions that will help them manage both their domestic and international operations efficiently.
This requirement will be fulfilled by the IoT platform introduced by Aeris called ‘IoT Accelerator’, which is capable of meeting the changing needs of today’s enterprises by offering global connectivity. The platform is capable of delivering secure, scalable, and global connectivity to enterprises working in the automotive industry and other critical areas.
With its renewed collaboration with KDDI, Aeris aims to contribute to large-scale IoT innovation while supporting enterprises in simplifying their global connectivity solutions.
