Lisa Marcyes has taken on a new role as Senior Director, Marketing Communications at Cohesity, expanding her responsibilities within the technology and cybersecurity company after more than 15 years in the marketing industry.
Marcyes announced the move on LinkedIn, describing the appointment as a new title in her ongoing career in technology marketing. Her professional background includes work across social media, content, communications and digital marketing, with a focus on making complex technology topics more accessible to business audiences.
Before moving into the new position, Marcyes led global social media strategy at Cohesity. The move into marketing communications comes as technology companies face a growing need to communicate increasingly complex subjects, from cybersecurity and cyber resilience to artificial intelligence and data protection. For communications teams, this means balancing technical information with clear narratives that can engage customers, partners, employees and the broader technology community.
Marcyes’ previous work has centered heavily on digital storytelling and social engagement. Her published work and professional activity also reflect an interest in content formats, social media strategy, influencer engagement and the changing role of AI in marketing.
Her new position brings these areas closer to the broader communications function at Cohesity. The transition also represents a progression from a primarily social media-focused leadership role toward a wider marketing communications remit.
For Marcyes, the appointment marks another step in a career that has increasingly focused on connecting technology companies with their audiences through digital content and storytelling. It also comes at a time when cybersecurity companies are placing greater emphasis on how they explain rapidly changing technology and security challenges to a broader business audience.
