Boomi has appointed Mike Hickman as its new Chief Financial Officer, bringing three decades of finance leadership across technology and SaaS companies to the software company’s executive team. The appointment was announced on September 24, 2026.
In his new role, Hickman will lead Boomi’s global finance and accounting organization, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, tax and financial reporting. He will report to Steve Lucas, Boomi’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Hickman joins Boomi from Proofpoint, where he spent seven and a half years and most recently served as Senior Vice President of Finance. During his tenure, he was involved in the company’s $12.3 billion take-private transaction and the integration of its $1.8 billion acquisition of Hornetsecurity.
Earlier in his career, Hickman held finance leadership positions at Adobe, supporting enterprise, professional services and Document Cloud businesses. At Marin Software, he established the company’s FP&A function ahead of its initial public offering. He began his career in finance roles at eBay and Vitria Technology.

The appointment comes as Boomi continues to expand its operations around data integration, automation and AI-focused enterprise technology. The company says it currently serves more than 30,000 customers and works with a network of more than 800 partners.
For Boomi, Hickman’s arrival adds a finance executive with experience across several stages of the technology business lifecycle, including IPO preparation, private ownership, acquisitions and integration.
His appointment also reflects the increasing importance of financial leadership as technology companies scale operations while managing investments in AI, cloud infrastructure and enterprise software.
Hickman’s focus will now be on building and managing the financial organization supporting Boomi’s next phase of growth, while aligning financial planning and operations across its global business.
