Darkroom, the AI-native growth marketing agency responsible for driving over $5 billion in attributable commerce revenue, has officially launched its proprietary AI workspace, Shadow, to the public.
Originally built in-house and used internally across Darkroom’s operations for six months, Shadow is now available in public beta for all in-house marketing organizations and agencies. The platform offers a three-day free trial, with subscription plans starting at $120 per month.
Solving the Operational Fragmentation of Marketing AI
As modern marketing teams adopt an expanding suite of software and artificial intelligence tools, operational silos often develop. Strategists, media buyers, and creative specialists frequently work within isolated AI interfaces, leaving valuable data, channel insights, and agent training trapped in disconnected chat logs.
This problem is overcome through Shadow in making the brand the source of truth for the company. The work environment is designed to work well with commerce and advertising systems including Meta, Google, Shopify, Klaviyo, Tiktok, Amazon Seller, Amazon Ads, Amazon DSP, Walmart, and Google Analytics along with collaborative tools like Notion, Slack, and Figma. This setup makes sure that both humans and artificial intelligence agents have access to the same real-world operating environment.
“Right now everyone on a marketing team works in their own AI silo: different tools, different context, different data,” said Jackson Corey, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Darkroom, who built Shadow. “Shadow makes the brand the single source of truth that every person and every agent works from, so no one starts from zero again. We ran Darkroom on it for six months. Now we’re opening it to every marketer and agency.”

Key Capabilities of the Shadow AI Platform
Shadow combines data synchronization, agency workflows, and model portability into a single platform:
- Real-Time Data Integration: Shadow integrates performance metrics in real time, hourly, and provides historical data integration in a normalized database which can be queried by people and artificial intelligence alike.
- Threading & Documentation Collaboration: Multidisciplinary teams have the ability to engage in conversations with the AI models through collaborative threading and documentation when doing campaign management, creative collaboration, and weekly reports while keeping the context of the strategic decision making in the brand workspace.
- Model-Agnostic Portability: Teams are able to integrate the models and agents they want to use including ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and Codex; assigning them specific roles and permissions. Using Model Context Protocol (MCP), Shadow gives you the ability to bring the brand context into your favorite AI applications.
- Complete Transparency and Control: Every action executed by an AI agent remains fully visible. Proposed campaign adjustments such as ad spend changes across Google or Meta display side-by-side comparison previews and require manual human approval before execution. Built-in audit logs and Google Ads rollback capabilities provide enterprise-level governance.
Proven Performance in Live Agency Operations
Prior to its public release, Darkroom tested Shadow across real-world client accounts spanning paid media, digital growth, retention strategies, performance creative, and marketplace management.
Internal performance tracking demonstrated an 80% reduction in reporting and strategic decision-making timelines. Biweekly creative analysis reports that previously required two hours of manual analyst effort are now generated via single prompts, shifting team focus from data gathering to strategic optimization. Furthermore, post-contract client onboarding timelines decreased from two weeks to approximately three days.
“The best future for this firm is one where our strategists deliver outcomes on the best technology in the market, and Shadow is that technology,” said Lucas DiPietrantonio, Co-Founder and CEO of Darkroom. “What we’re building is what a holding company would look like if you rebuilt it today on AI, with none of the legacy drag.”
Shadow operates as an independent, self-service software solution. Marketing organizations can adopt and deploy the software without retaining Darkroom’s agency services.
