Conduent has appointed Narayanan Sundaresan as its new Chief Information and Technology Officer, bringing an enterprise technology leader with more than 28 years of experience in digital transformation, AI, cybersecurity and technology strategy to the role. Sundaresan officially joined Conduent on September 14, 2026.
In his new position, Sundaresan will lead Conduent’s global technology organization and oversee the company’s broader technology strategy. His responsibilities include advancing AI-powered capabilities across the enterprise while strengthening the technology infrastructure required to support secure, reliable and scalable operations.
The appointment comes as enterprises increasingly move beyond AI experimentation toward integrating artificial intelligence into core business processes. For Conduent, Sundaresan’s mandate spans areas including enterprise platforms, digital products, data, cybersecurity and technology operations.

Sundaresan joins Conduent from Strategic Education, where he served as Global Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Digital Products & Technology. In that role, he led initiatives involving AI-driven work redesign, hyper-automation, technology integration and the development of global technology capabilities. He also previously held technology leadership positions at Capella Education Company.
His appointment also highlights a broader shift in the responsibilities of enterprise technology leaders. As organizations adopt AI across operations, CIO and technology leadership roles are increasingly focused not only on infrastructure and applications but also on governance, cybersecurity, data and the practical deployment of AI at scale.
Sundaresan said his focus at Conduent will center on expanding AI capabilities while building technology infrastructure that employees and clients can trust.
Conduent’s leadership team now includes Sundaresan as the executive responsible for its global technology organization and strategy.
