Global AI solutions company RWS has entered into a legally binding agreement to buy out Acogroup, which is the parent company of Acolad, a global leader in the field of language and content services. Acolad, whose headquarters are based in Paris, is an organization consisting of around 1,200 people working in 22 different countries and having a strong presence in Western Europe and North America, with particular experience in regulated industries such as life sciences, public sector, and medical devices.

Commenting on the strategic rationale, Benjamin Faes, Chief Executive Officer of RWS, stated, “This proposed acquisition is strategically compelling and will extend our reach across Europe,” adding that “Together, we can deepen customer relationships, solve more complex content challenges and deliver greater value across the enterprise.” Furthermore, Bertrand Gstalder, Chief Executive Officer of Acolad, expressed enthusiasm for the merger, noting, “Together, we can give our customers access to a broader range of language and content capabilities. We’ll also help them adopt AI-powered content workflows safely, responsibly and at the scale their businesses require.” Subject to any relevant French regulatory approvals and consultation with employees, the deal is expected to be completed by March 31, 2027, where both firms will run independently to ensure uninterrupted service to their global corporate clientele.
