Air France-KLM has partnered with Accenture and Google Cloud to establish an advanced generative AI (gen AI) factory, a next-generation cloud-powered framework aimed at accelerating AI innovation across the airline group.
This new gen AI factory provides the foundational technology and strategic roadmap to scale gen AI adoption throughout Air France-KLM’s business. Built on Google Cloud and designed in collaboration with Accenture, the platform enables the airline to efficiently identify, test, and deploy high-impact generative AI, agentic, and machine learning models. The initiative focuses on streamlining operations in areas with the most potential for measurable ROI and transformation, including customer service, maintenance, and ground operations.
Earlier this year, Accenture supported Air France-KLM in modernizing its digital infrastructure by migrating key applications to the cloud. This critical move laid the groundwork for faster and more scalable deployment of generative AI solutions. Since then, the airline has implemented a private gen AI assistant and developed retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) use cases—combining natural language generation with internal document search—to improve processes such as diagnosing and repairing aircraft damage. These solutions are now being rolled out more broadly across the organization.
In collaboration with Accenture, Air France-KLM developed the gen AI projects factory on Google Cloud to support advanced agentic AI capabilities. This AI-powered framework allows teams to uncover and execute high-value use cases using standardized tools and methodologies. The infrastructure also fosters cross-functional collaboration, enabling faster testing, development, and operational deployment. By moving efficiently from pilot to production, the airline has already accelerated development cycles by over 35% and delivered measurable improvements in core business functions.

To sustain this momentum, Air France-KLM and Accenture have created a formalized innovation process that empowers employees to convert real-world challenges into practical gen AI applications. This structured pipeline—from ideation and prototyping to testing and scaling—ensures that valuable solutions are rapidly implemented. One highlight of this initiative was the co-hosted GenAI Days, a hands-on workshop where teams experimented with gen AI factory tools and generated actionable ideas to reduce operational costs and enhance revenue.
