DigitalOcean Holdings, Inc., the cloud platform designed for digital-native businesses, announced an expanded partnership with AMD to offer customers access to AMD Instinct™ GPUs via DigitalOcean GPU Droplets. This initiative begins with the integration of AMD Instinct™ MI300X GPUs and will soon include the latest AMD Instinct™ MI325X models, enhancing DigitalOcean’s GPU portfolio with more powerful and cost-efficient solutions for AI workloads.

The AMD Instinct MI300X GPUs deliver exceptional performance for high-performance computing (HPC) and are engineered to meet the rising demands of generative AI applications. Supported by the AMD ROCm™ software platform, these GPUs empower developers to build and deploy production-ready HPC and AI systems more efficiently. Their expansive memory capacity enables models with hundreds of billions of parameters to run entirely in-memory, reducing latency and simplifying infrastructure by eliminating the need for model partitioning across multiple GPUs.

By integrating AMD’s cutting-edge AI accelerators with DigitalOcean’s simplified cloud infrastructure, this collaboration aims to help startups and growth-stage businesses implement AI capabilities seamlessly and scale more efficiently to meet advanced AI requirements.

Previously available only in bare metal deployments, the next-generation AMD GPUs can now be leveraged via GPU Droplets and DigitalOcean Kubernetes worker nodes. Offered in both single and eight-GPU configurations, customers can select the ideal setup to balance performance and cost based on their specific workloads.

DigitalOcean provides straightforward access to these GPU Droplets with a competitive hourly pricing model starting at $1.99 per GPU. The platform emphasizes ease of use with a simplified setup experience, allowing users to bypass the complex configuration processes often required by other cloud providers. With just a few clicks, customers can deploy robust AI infrastructure backed by enterprise-grade SLAs.

Additionally, users will gain access to the AMD Developer Cloud, a powerful development platform hosted by DigitalOcean. This fully managed environment offers instant access to AMD Instinct MI300X GPUs without the need for any hardware purchases or local configurations. Whether refining large language models (LLMs), conducting inference benchmarking, or building scalable inference pipelines, the AMD Developer Cloud equips users with the resources to innovate and grow from day one.

“DigitalOcean’s collaboration with AMD is another proof point to make AI easily accessible to our customers,” said Bratin Saha, Chief Product & Technology Officer at DigitalOcean. “With access to AMD GPUs, DigitalOcean customers have an extensive portfolio of GPUs with the flexibility of the computing configuration that best suits their requirements.”

“At AMD, we are proud to work with DigitalOcean to provide developers with cutting-edge solutions for developer enablement and demanding workloads that require large amounts of memory,” said Negin Oliver, corporate vice president of business development, Data Center GPU Business, at AMD. “Together, AMD and DigitalOcean are committed to providing the critical innovative technologies required to support the evolving needs of growing tech businesses.”
