AI conversational assistants like Claude Desktop and Copilot can now be connected to Netwrix Access Analyzer using the Model Context Protocol.

Netwrix, a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions that safeguard data and identity, has unveiled a new open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP) server integration for its flagship solution, Netwrix Access Analyzer. This integration, available at no cost, allows organizations to harness the power of AI assistants to effortlessly query and analyze data security insights collected by the Access Analyzer.

With this powerful enhancement, security teams can now use natural language to ask questions such as “Who has access to sensitive data?” or “Which accounts are stale and pose a risk?” and instantly receive accurate answers—eliminating the need to log into dashboards or write complex queries.

By connecting Access Analyzer to conversational AI tools like Claude Desktop and Microsoft Copilot, security professionals gain a faster, more intuitive way to understand access risks and exposure points across their environment. These AI assistants make it easy to create visual dashboards, uncover hidden threats, and receive actionable recommendations in seconds—all through plain-language interactions.

“Integration with the MCP-compatible AI assistants for Netwrix Access Analyzer is the first step towards future Netwrix AI capabilities. Our current roadmap is focused on elevating privileged access management (PAM) and identity threat detection and response (ITDR) experience by bringing MCP integration to Netwrix Privilege Secure and Netwrix Threat Manager,” says Jeff Warren, Chief Product Officer at Netwrix. “We aim to empower our customers to extract value from our data without being an expert in our products’ interfaces or understanding database schemas of target systems.”

Key Benefits for Cybersecurity Teams

  • Accelerated Insights: The MCP server simplifies access to high-priority security use cases, allowing teams to extract insights from complex data sets quickly and effectively.

  • Effortless Integration: Acting as a universal connector, the MCP server bridges Netwrix products with external systems, enabling seamless data exchange and analysis across platforms—without the usual integration hurdles.

  • Enhanced Security Posture: By enabling AI to automatically identify access risks and recommend remediations, organizations can scale their security efforts and boost team productivity—even as data environments grow increasingly complex.

Built on an open standard, the Model Context Protocol enables AI assistants to query enterprise systems directly, without the need for custom development. Organizations retain full control over what data is exposed to the MCP server, and all AI interactions are logged and auditable to ensure compliance and accountability.

With this innovative integration, Netwrix continues to break new ground in simplifying cybersecurity operations through AI, helping businesses stay a step ahead of evolving threats.
