Oracle announced the Oracle AI Database 26ai, a major enhancement of its market-leading database platform, embedding AI deeply within its core to support a broad spectrum of data types and workloads. This launch represents Oracle’s “AI for Data” vision, delivering AI across the complete data and development stack, such as AI Vector Search, AI for Database Management, AI for Data Development, AI for Application Development, and AI for Analytics. Users can now run dynamic agentic AI workflows that integrate private database data with public data, delivering advanced answers and actions. Juan Loaiza, Oracle Database Technologies’ Executive Vice President, stressed, “By designing AI and data together, Oracle AI Database makes ‘AI for Data’ easy to learn and easy to use.” This brings capabilities to organizations that enable them to provide trusted AI insights, innovations, and productivity in multicloud and on-premises setups.

The Oracle AI Database 26ai is an open and pervasive offering that supports a range of technologies like the Apache Iceberg open table format, Model Context Protocol (MCP), leading large language models (LLMs), mainstream agentic AI frameworks, and Open Neural Network Exchange (ONNX) embedding models. This allows customers to develop and deploy AI applications across a broad set of tools and frameworks. Moreover, the database employs NIST-endorsed quantum-resistant algorithms (ML-KEM) to encrypt data-in-flight, in addition to current quantum-resistant encryption for data-at-rest, guaranteeing strong protection of data from the menace of future quantum computers. Holger Mueller, Vice President and Principal Analyst at Constellation Research, noted, “Great AI needs great data. With Oracle AI Database 26ai, customers get both.”. It’s the one location where their business data resides current, consistent, and secure.” The announcement also unveils the Oracle Autonomous AI Lakehouse, which accepts the Apache Iceberg open table format, enabling customers to take advantage of the power of Oracle AI Database for data lake data.computing threats.
