Google Commits $9 Billion to Expand AI Infrastructure in South Carolina

Google will invest $9 billion by 2027 to expand its data centers in South Carolina. This is one of its biggest infrastructure projects in the US. Google aims to expand its Berkeley County campus. Apart from the infrastructure development, Google.org is also awarding a grant to the Electrical Training Alliance (etA) in order to incorporate AI technologies into its course work and train over 160 South Carolina apprentices. As Google expands its investment in the state, it continues its overall initiative to update infrastructure to support data, and ensure that technological advances serve both industries and communities. The move comes in line with other investments in innovation centers globally such as in the UK and Belgium, emphasizing Google’s long-term vision to establish enduring, AI-capable operations globally.
