Global identity security leader CyberArk announced the general availability of the CyberArk Secure AI Agents Solution, its first-of-its-kind identity-security offering designed specifically to protect AI agents by applying rigorous privilege controls. As enterprises accelerate adoption of agentic AI for automation and efficiency, the company highlights elevated risks such as agent “hallucinations, misuse, and potential takeover by malicious actors” when those agents hold privileged access. To address this, CyberArk has extended its identity-security platform to include autonomous AI agents, enforcing principles such as just-in-time access, least privilege, continuous session monitoring, and comprehensive lifecycle governance. According to CyberArk’s CISO research, agent-based AI adoption is projected to hit 76% within three years, yet fewer than 10% of organizations have adequate security and privilege controls in place; nearly 40% of enterprise financial services and software firms already have agentic AI in production.

“As organizations embrace AI agents, both builders and defenders must understand how identity-centric risks evolve when agents require elevated privileges,” said Matt Cohen, CEO, CyberArk. “Without strong discovery, robust privilege controls, and comprehensive lifecycle management, organizations risk losing visibility and opening the door to catastrophic agentic attacks. CyberArk uniquely secures the full spectrum of identities humans, machines and AI agents by applying the right level of privilege controls, enabling innovation while maintaining security and compliance.” The solution offers features such as automatic detection of AI agents across SaaS, cloud and developer environments (with enriched profiling), enforcement of strong authentication with zero standing privileges, real-time threat detection and anomaly monitoring, and full lifecycle management to support audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
