AWS Enhances Amazon Bedrock Data Automation with Blueprint Instruction Optimization

Related stories

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced a significant enhancement to Amazon Bedrock Data Automation (BDA) with the launch of blueprint instruction optimization for document blueprints, a feature designed to dramatically improve accuracy and efficiency in intelligent document processing workflows. BDA, a core capability of Amazon Bedrock, automates the generation of insights from unstructured multimodal content including documents, images, audio, and video for GenAI-powered applications. The new blueprint instruction optimization enables developers to bring up to ten representative document assets from their production workloads, provide the correct ground truth values, and let the service automatically refine the natural language instructions in their blueprints without requiring any model training or fine-tuning. This automatic refinement analyses the differences between expected results and BDA’s inference outputs, improving custom field extraction accuracy across examples in minutes and delivering detailed evaluation metrics like exact match rates and F1 scores to instill confidence in production readiness. BDA’s blueprint instruction optimization supports extraction of business-critical insights such as invoice line items, contract terms, tax form fields, or medical billing codes, and is available in all AWS Regions where Bedrock Data Automation is supported, helping enterprises streamline document processing at scale with generative AI.

This enhancement reflects AWS’s ongoing commitment to simplifying AI-driven automation and reducing the complexity of traditional document processing, where manual configuration and iterative prompt tuning have historically been time-consuming. By enabling a few example documents to guide optimization and eliminating the need for extensive prompt engineering or model adjustments, BDA’s improvement empowers developers and organizations to achieve production-ready accuracy swiftly and confidently. To start using this capability, users can navigate to their document blueprints in the Amazon Bedrock Data Automation console and initiate the optimization directly, making it easier than ever to build robust and scalable intelligent document processing solutions on AWS.
