Siemens has announced a major enhancement to its industrial AI solutions by introducing advanced AI agents designed to integrate seamlessly into the existing Industrial Copilot ecosystem. This innovation marks a pivotal shift from traditional AI assistants that merely respond to queries to fully autonomous agents capable of executing complete processes independently.
The new AI agent architecture from Siemens is driven by a sophisticated orchestrator that intelligently manages a suite of specialized agents. Similar to a skilled craftsman utilizing a versatile toolkit, these agents collaboratively tackle complex tasks across the entire industrial value chain. Operating autonomously, they understand intent, learn continuously to improve performance, and access both external tools and other agents when needed. Importantly, users maintain full control by choosing which tasks to delegate to these intelligent agents.

To further promote adoption and innovation, Siemens plans to establish an industrial AI agent marketplace hub on the Siemens Xcelerator Marketplace. Siemens is also working on a Hydrogen Configurator to simplify designing hydrogen production plants, offering intuitive block flow diagram generation with precise plant layouts.

Planning Copilot: In pre-release, with early customer feedback available, this copilot leverages generative AI insights to optimize production planning, resource allocation, and scheduling, helping manufacturers boost efficiency and cut waste.

Engineering Copilot: Available through the TIA Portal, with managed services expected in 2025, this copilot eliminates repetitive engineering tasks. As the first generative AI-powered automation engineering tool, it facilitates the creation of automation code using natural language, significantly accelerating SCL code generation while reducing errors.
In the process industries, the P&ID Digitalization Copilot has been successfully tested by several clients. It offers a cloud-based P&ID detection service to modernize and consolidate legacy diagrams.

Operations Copilot: Available on Insights Hub, this copilot provides comprehensive plant insights. Siemens plans to launch an Operations Copilot for shop floor workers by the end of 2025. Designed to support operators, service technicians, and maintenance engineers, it will offer machine data queries and error resolution guidance via natural language, making operations smoother and more intuitive.
For process industries, the Simatic eaSie assistant offers technicians easy access to plant data through chat or voice, ensuring safer and more reliable operations both in the control room and on the field.

Now expanded to cover the full maintenance lifecycle, this tool supports everything from reactive to preventive strategies, with pilot implementations already showing a 25% reduction in reactive maintenance time.

At thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering, the technology has enhanced code quality and development speed. Similarly, at Siemens’ Bad Neustadt facility, the Insights Hub Production Copilot has revolutionized manufacturing by converting dispersed data into actionable insights.
