Siemens has entered into a strategic collaboration with Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company, to help manufacturers worldwide achieve greater efficiency, scalability, and AI-driven intelligence. Through this partnership, organizations can seamlessly bridge operational technology (OT) data from the shop floor with information technology (IT) data from areas such as supply chain and finance, creating a unified foundation for digital transformation.

The integration of Siemens Industrial Edge with the Snowflake AI Data Cloud enables manufacturers to deploy plug-and-play Industrial Edge applications, ensuring OT data can be contextualized and transferred into IT environments. This capability equips enterprises with a reliable data backbone an essential step for improving machine performance, boosting availability, and streamlining production processes across factories.

“This collaboration brings together the best of both worlds,” said Rainer Brehm, CEO of Factory Automation at Siemens. “Siemens has deep expertise in how to bring OT and IT together on the shop floor, while Snowflake excels in managing and analyzing both large-scale OT and IT data. Together, we enable customers to bridge the IT/OT divide and scale their digital transformation across machines, lines, and factories.”

“Together with Siemens, we’re enabling manufacturers to harness the full potential of their data through Snowflake’s easy, connected and trusted platform,” said Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product at Snowflake. “The ability to apply AI across both IT and OT data isn’t just an advancement; it unlocks a new reality of possibilities for unparalleled quality improvement and radical performance optimization, as well as new ways of process automation powered by AI agents.”

From Edge to Cloud: FFT Demonstrates Real-World Impact

FFT, a global leader in advanced and flexible manufacturing systems, is already leveraging this joint solution. By utilizing the Siemens Industrial Edge ecosystem and its DataBridge app, FFT enables secure, scalable, and efficient data transfer from production environments into the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. This approach is actively deployed within FFT’s own operations, setting a benchmark for efficiency and AI-driven optimization.

As both a Siemens Xcelerator partner and a trusted Snowflake integrator, FFT plays a pivotal role in enabling manufacturers across mobility and industrial sectors to adopt automated, flexible, and data-powered production systems.

Solving Data Silos with AI and Automation

Designed for production managers, IT leaders, and data engineers, the Siemens–Snowflake solution addresses long-standing manufacturing challenges including fragmented data, lack of transparency, and limited analytics. Siemens Industrial Edge connects seamlessly to diverse data sources PLCs, sensors, and other shop-floor systems while pre-processing data at the edge and enabling AI models to run in closed-loop production automation.

Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud then delivers actionable insights using AI-driven analytics and agentic AI capabilities. This combined solution empowers manufacturers to increase machine uptime, improve product quality, and reduce maintenance costs driving measurable gains in operational efficiency.
