Schneider Electric customers and employees use GenAI (generative AI) capabilities, increasing productivity and enabling new ways of working

Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is leveraging the capabilities of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) to help customers to transform your internal operations.

Building on a long-standing collaboration with Microsoft, Schneider Electric is integrating Microsoft Azure OpenAI to develop solutions that leverage algorithms to generate text, code and other types of content. This has allowed Schneider Electric to reimagine its approach around various operational processes, streamlining time-consuming tasks, optimizing resource allocation, and gaining speed and efficiency. At the same time, the Group continues to apply GenAI to advance innovation in its portfolio of offerings.

Key aspects of Schneider Electric’s use of GenAI include:

  • Resource Advisor Copilot : Using Large Language Model technology through Microsoft Azure OpenAI, Schneider Electric has securely built Copilot as a convenient digital companion integrated within Resource Advisor. Copilot equips customers with enhanced data analytics, visualization, decision support and performance optimization, as well as the ability to seamlessly process intricate industry insights and information from the Resource Advisor system.
  • Jo-Chat GPT: In-house conversational assistant based on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service that allows employees to benefit from generative AI capabilities safely.
  • Financial Advisor: Contributing to annual savings of €10 million, this conversation assistant offers an easy and effective way to find accurate information for financial analysts in accounting and other roles in the global finance sector. Helps achieve consistent, compliant and timely decision making.
  • Knowledge Bot: Conversational assistant that helps customer service representatives find accurate information for customer queries and proposes an appropriate response based on extensive internal documentation.
  • Conversational Search: Help our customers search for the products they need in a natural conversational style using semantic search capabilities.

Commenting on these technological and business advancements, Philippe Rambach , Chief AI Officer at Schneider Electric, said: “Generative AI is revolutionary and we are investing in this technology. It has already enabled us to improve internal productivity and aligns perfectly with our commitment to continuous improvement and high-impact innovation focused on sustainability.

Schneider Electric’s AI center organization launched in 2021, before GenAI technology became prevalent. With the birth of these new tools, the company created a dedicated core GenAI team to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to detect early application opportunities. In parallel, Schneider Electric completed a GenAI opportunity study across functions and has selected more than 200 potential use cases and opportunities.

Schneider Electric’s adoption of generative AI and integration with Microsoft Azure OpenAI underscores its commitment to staying at the forefront of technological innovation in energy management and industrial automation. Companies are focused on leveraging advanced technologies to drive efficiency improvements, foster innovation and achieve sustainable growth.

“Microsoft Azure OpenAI enables Schneider to develop agile, scalable, cost-effective, AI-driven solutions that are aligned with our shared ambitions for a sustainable, digitalized future,” said Dominik Wee, corporate vice president of Manufacturing and Mobility at Microsoft.

Schneider Electric‘s portfolio of solutions based on Microsoft Azure offers its customers next-generation cloud-based IoT (Internet of Things) solutions, as well as advanced data and AI capabilities.
