Schneider Electric customers and employees use GenAI (Generative AI) capabilities to improve productivity and new ways of working

Schneider Electric , a leader in digital transformation in energy management and automation, leverages the capabilities of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to empower customers and transform its internal operations.

Building on a long-standing collaboration with Microsoft, Schneider Electric integrates Microsoft Azure OpenAI to develop solutions that use algorithms to generate text, code and other types of content. This has enabled Schneider Electric to reinvent its approach to different operational processes, streamline time-consuming tasks, optimize resource allocation and accelerate and improve efficiency. At the same time, the Group continues to apply GenAI to advance innovation across its portfolio of offerings.

The highlights of Schneider Electric’s use of GenAI are:

  • Resource Advisor Copilot – using Microsoft Azure OpenAI’s Large Language Model technology, Schneider Electric has securely built Copilot as a convenient digital companion integrated with Resource Advisor. Copilot provides customers with better data analysis, visualization, decision support and performance optimization, as well as the ability to seamlessly process complex industry knowledge and Resource Advisor system information.
  • Jo-Chat GPT – an internal chat assistant based on Microsoft Azure OpenAI service that allows employees to securely leverage generative AI capabilities.
  • Financial Advisor – this conversational assistant provides a simple and effective way to find accurate information for financial analysts in accounting and other functions within global finance. It enables consistent, compliant and timely decisions to be made.
  • Conversation Support – Helps customer service representatives find accurate information for customer inquiries and provide an appropriate response based on extensive internal documentation.
  • Conversational Search – helping our customers search for the products they need in a natural conversational style using a semantic search feature.

Schneider Electric is also looking to integrate Github Copilot to further improve its deal creation processes and operations, as well as Sales Copilot to further empower its frontline employees.

Commenting on these technological and business advancements, Philippe Rambach, Director of AI at Schneider Electric, said: “Generative AI is a game changer and we are investing in this technology. This has already enabled us to improve our internal productivity and it aligns perfectly with our commitment to continuous improvement and impactful innovation focused on sustainability. »

Schneider Electric’s AI hub organization was launched in 2021, before GenAI technology became widespread. With the emergence of these new tools, the company created a dedicated GenAI team to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to detect early application opportunities.

Schneider Electric’s adoption of generative AI and its integration with Microsoft Azure OpenAI underscores their commitment to remaining at the forefront of technological innovation in energy management and industrial automation. Businesses are focused on leveraging advanced technologies to drive efficiencies, drive innovation and achieve sustainable growth.

“Microsoft Azure OpenAI enables Schneider to develop agile, scalable, cost-effective, AI-driven solutions that meet our shared ambitions for a sustainable and digital future. » according to Dominik Wee, corporate vice president, Production and Mobility at Microsoft.

Schneider Electric‘s portfolio of solutions based on Microsoft Azure offers its customers next-generation cloud-based IoT (Internet of Things) solutions, as well as advanced data and AI capabilities.
