Intel and EdgeRunner collaborated to optimize Athena to run efficiently on Intel’s latest processors, including its latest Intel® Core™ Ultra 200V series processors (codenamed Lunar Lake), leveraging Intel’s OpenVINO toolkit. This integration ensures optimized model inference, reduced latency, and seamless integration into existing systems, providing enhanced AI performance on common enterprise chipsets.

EdgeRunner Athena boosts productivity, decision-making, and operational efficiency, all while ensuring data privacy and security. Powered by EdgeRunner’s advanced, domain-specific language models for nested function-calling, Athena is purpose-built for mission-critical applications and seamlessly integrates with a wide range of hardware configurations, including consumer grade GPU and CPU.

EdgeRunner Athena is designed for straightforward deployment, requiring minimal technical expertise. Developers can easily integrate their current tools into Athena via drop-in replacement with OpenAI-compatible APIs or through intuitive script generation for natural language processing (NLP) tasks.

Demonstration at CES 2025

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas, EdgeRunner and Intel are showcasing their combined solution, including:

  • Air-Gapped AI Deployments on Intel Hardware: Demonstrating secure, on-device AI applications running efficiently on Intel AI PCs.
  • Optimized Performance with OpenVINO Integration: Highlighting enhanced AI performance through integration with Intel’s OpenVINO toolkit.
  • Seamless API Compatibility: Showcasing easy integration with existing tools via OpenAI-compatible APIs and intuitive developer tools with agentic action to enterprise services.

EdgeRunner Athena goes beyond core tasks, integrating into workflows by managing emails, scheduling calendar invites, sending Slack messages, and even searching the internet as needed.
