OpenAI announced its acquisition of Statsig, a leading experimentation platform trusted for A/B testing, feature flagging, and real-time decisioning. This strategic transaction brings Statsig’s renowned technology and its founder into OpenAI’s growing Applications organization.
Vijaye Raji, founder and CEO of Statsig, will join OpenAI as Chief Technology Officer of Applications, reporting directly to Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI. In this role, Raji will lead product engineering for ChatGPT and Codex, responsible for core systems, infrastructure, and Integrity.
OpenAI highlighted Raji’s entrepreneurial vision and operational prowess, drawing on his experience building and leading large-scale consumer engineering teams. His background includes founding Statsig and over a decade of leadership at Meta.

As part of the acquisition, OpenAI is bringing the trusted Statsig experimentation platform in-house. OpenAI will accelerate experimentation across its Applications organization to build more responsive, high-quality products for people and businesses.

Upon closing, all Statsig employees will join OpenAI and will continue serving their customer base from their Seattle office. OpenAI stated that it will take a measured approach to integration to maintain continuity for current customers and allow the team to continue excelling at what it does best. The acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of regulatory approval.
