Announced on the margins of the Choose France event, the partnership exemplifies UAE–France cooperation in building open, secure, and interoperable AI solutions and infrastructure for the world.
In a landmark move for the global artificial intelligence (AI) landscape, G42, the Abu Dhabi-headquartered technology conglomerate, has entered into a strategic partnership with Paris-based Mistral AI, a frontrunner in AI innovation. This collaboration aims to co-develop next-generation AI platforms and infrastructure that are both scalable and open-access.
The partnership was unveiled on the sidelines of the Choose France summit and directly supports the broader framework for AI cooperation outlined by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and French President Emmanuel Macron in February 2025. This milestone reflects the deepening collaboration between the UAE and France, grounded in five decades of enduring economic and cultural relations, and now extending into the forefront of global AI innovation.
Combining G42’s operational breadth and AI ecosystem—through subsidiaries such as Core42 (AI infrastructure) and Inception (AI platforms and solutions)—with Mistral AI’s cutting-edge advancements in open-weight large language models, the partnership sets a new standard for international AI cooperation.
“This partnership exemplifies a new model of AI development: one that balances sovereignty with interoperability, and ambition with accountability,” said Peng Xiao, Group CEO of G42. “Together with Mistral AI, we’re not just building technology, we’re laying the groundwork for a digitally interdependent future where trust and transparency are non-negotiable.”
This alliance will span the full AI value chain, encompassing model training, AI agent development, infrastructure optimization, and sector-specific applications across Europe, the Middle East, and the Global South. The integration of Mistral AI’s platform with G42’s AI stack will be governed by a framework that safeguards intellectual property while ensuring scalable and secure deployment.
Furthermore, both organizations will explore joint go-to-market initiatives, leveraging their combined reach to expand offerings into new and existing global markets.

Arthur Mensch, Co-founder and CEO of Mistral AI, added: “G42 is a partner who shares our commitment to making powerful, open artificial intelligence accessible to all. This alliance not only accelerates our journey but also ensures that the benefits of AI extend beyond traditional tech hubs.”
As part of the collaboration, Mistral AI will also partner with the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI)—the world’s first graduate-level research university dedicated to AI—on research, talent development, and applied AI innovation. The focus will include co-development of advanced foundation models and translating academic breakthroughs into impactful solutions.
“We look forward to working with Mistral AI and G42 to advance AI technology in the areas of next-generation foundational models, energy-efficiency and safety,” said Eric Xing, President and University Professor, MBZUAI. “Our shared values around driving innovation, collaboration, accessibility and inclusion make us ideally suited to drive research advancements in the field of AI to the benefit of all.”
This agreement reflects a broader commitment from both G42 and Mistral AI to promote inclusive technological progress, strengthen digital infrastructure, and democratize access to advanced AI capabilities—particularly in regions that have historically lacked such resources.
With this strategic partnership, G42 and Mistral AI are setting a new precedent for bilateral cooperation and defining a future in which artificial intelligence is open, ethical, and accessible to all.
