Iveda Launches Sleep Sense for Contactless Health Monitoring

Award-winning AI care platform expands its ambient sensor kit with overnight vital sign monitoring; no cameras or wearables required

Iveda, a global leader in AI-driven video analytics and smart city technologies, announced the next evolution of IvedaCare, the first scientifically validated AI care platform for senior living and aging-in-place environments. The updated IvedaCare Kit now includes Sleep Sense, a contactless overnight wellness sensor that gives caregivers, nursing staff, and families nightly visibility into senior health without cameras or wearables.

Research links insufficient sleep to nearly half of the leading causes of death, making it one of the most important and most overlooked indicators of health in senior care. For older adults, changes in sleep quality can signal shifts in wellness long before they become visible during the day. Sleep Sense addresses this gap directly, adding overnight vital sign monitoring to IvedaCare, allowing caregivers to track heart rate, respiratory rate, and sleep patterns night after night and surface trends before they escalate into clinical events. The additional motion, and door and cabinet sensors strengthen the system’s ability to understand nightly activity patterns.

“Sleep is one of the earliest places health changes show up and one of the last places senior care thinks to look,” said David Ly, CEO and Founder of Iveda. “When you can monitor it passively every night, without waking anyone or asking them to wear a device, you start to see patterns that can surface a health change weeks before it becomes a crisis. That’s what we’ve built into the new IvedaCare Kit, and it’s what senior care has needed for a long time.”

A Complete, Contactless Care Kit

In addition to monitoring vital signs, Sleep Sense tracks bed presence, detects prolonged exits, flags oversleeping and frequent nighttime movement, and generates daily sleep reports for use in care planning all with no contact or maintenance required.

The enhanced IvedaCare Kit now includes:

  • 1 Sleep Sense sensor, which acts as the connection gateway to the platform
  • 4 motion sensors for greater ambient detection
  • 2 door sensors, which can also be used as cabinet sensors, including medicine cabinets
  • 1 SOS button for emergency assistance, including urgent fall-related events

Designed for Care; Validated by Science

Powered by IvedaCare’s proprietary AI engine, the kit installs seamlessly across private living quarters with no disruption to residents. Nursing staff and caregivers can access a dedicated insights dashboard that surfaces room-level wellness scores to help prioritize care, and all data is accessible in real time through the IvedaCare app.

IvedaCare is HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA compliant and is backed by the U.S. National Institute on Aging, with research partners including UC Berkeley, Johns Hopkins University, Georgia Tech, Emory Brain Health Center, and the National Science Foundation.

“IvedaCare is proud to have some of the most respected names in aging research behind this work,” Ly added. “It reflects what we’ve always believed: that technology can and should play a meaningful role in how we care for older adults.”
