Industrial software company HighByte has announced the general availability of HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.5. The updated software platform introduces advanced agentic configuration tools aimed at streamlining industrial data contextualization through natural language processing and artificial intelligence framework integrations.
Contextualization remains one of the largest hurdles for global manufacturers attempting to make operational technology (OT) data ready for artificial intelligence models. Because raw industrial data is traditionally fragmented across diverse, multi-generational systems, identical machinery and operational processes are frequently configured differently across plant sites.
To resolve these data silos, HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.5 introduces the Modeling Agent, an in-application assistant that integrates directly with a user’s preferred large language model (LLM) service. The feature enables engineering and operations teams to search connections, as well as generate and modify Inputs, Models, and Instances, using natural language commands. Operators can import supporting technical documents to provide domain-specific context, while built-in approval workflows ensure human verification before configuration adjustments take effect.

For enterprises leveraging external AI agents, version 4.5 expands Model Context Protocol (MCP) Configuration Tools beyond data pipelines to encompass Connections, Models, and Instances. Available both as downloadable files and active MCP tools, these configuration schemas allow autonomous agents to generate precise project setups on behalf of users.
Speaking on the launch, John Harrington, Chief Product Officer at HighByte, stated: “Agentic AI is only as good as the context behind it, and building that context has historically required scarce, specialized expertise. The Modeling Agent and our expanded MCP Configuration Tools give human users and external agents a faster path to accurate, well-modeled industrial data, with human review built into every step. Combined with the Data Lineage Graph, version 4.5 provides the ability to build context quickly with the visibility to trust it.”
Advanced Data Lineage and System Connectivity
Alongside agentic AI features, the release addresses data tracking challenges via a new graph database-backed Data Lineage Graph. This feature visually maps interrelationships across configured objects within the Intelligence Hub. Accessible via visual graphs, tabular views, or the MCP Server, the lineage tool allows operators to query the origin of specific data points in natural language, automating impact analysis and technical troubleshooting.
Additional technical improvements introduced in HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.5 include:
- Dual i3X Standard Support: The addition of an i3X Client alongside the pre-existing i3X Server provides a standardized framework to both publish and consume industrial data using the API standard developed by CESMII.
- Optimized Storage and Data Movement: Support for Parquet serialization and enhanced caching mechanisms for AVEVA PI System integrations accelerate high-volume data transfers.
- Enterprise Security and Governance: Upgrades covering Identity and Access Management (IAM), OpenTelemetry observability integrations, high-availability architecture support, and Git-based configuration management.
HighByte Intelligence Hub version 4.5 is available immediately. The new capabilities are bundled into standard subscription pricing with no additional licensing cost.
