vCluster Automates Private AI Cloud Infrastructure on Deutsche Telekom’s Industrial AI Cloud Powered by NVIDIA DSX OS

Related stories

vCluster Labs, a pioneer in cloud management platforms designed for hyperscale AI operations, has announced a strategic integration with Deutsche Telekom’s Industrial AI Cloud. Utilizing vCluster’s end-to-end automation alongside components of the NVIDIA DSX OS, the enterprise initiative allows industrial organizations to deploy and manage production-ready private AI clouds in a matter of hours.

By pairing NVIDIA’s open software architecture with vCluster’s platform, Deutsche Telekom is delivering dedicated control planes, fully isolated network environments, and localized operations within Europe to satisfy rigorous enterprise compliance and sovereignty standards.

Accelerating the Deployment of Industrial AI Factories

Less than six months after introducing NVIDIA DSX OS, an open-source software stack designed for AI factory operations, Deutsche Telekom is the first large industrial cloud provider to run the software in production with vCluster.

Together, the joint solution speeds a key bottleneck across enterprise infrastructure: the manual multi-day workflows of provisioning and deploying across network, storage, and compute teams has been accelerated down to a single click. Every enterprise customer gets a private AI cloud – complete with its own URL, console, observability stack, and isolated network layer.

This framework enables enterprises to take advantage of the flexible agility and user experience of public cloud environments, while providing the access controls, tenant isolation and compliance controls required for sensitive industrial IP.

Architectural Blueprint for Sovereign Cloud Infrastructure

Deutsche Telekom’s Industrial AI Cloud, originally launched alongside NVIDIA in Munich, serves enterprise organizations looking to build tailored AI applications without compromising sovereign data boundary requirements. The platform meets Germany’s C5 cloud security benchmark, offering multi-tenant isolation over traditional shared public cloud models.

Working with Deutsche Telekom and the NVIDIA DSX team, vCluster created an automated deployment pipeline from bare-metal servers into a tenant private cloud. This deployment topology mimics the approach employed by the largest AI cloud operators worldwide to optimize operational efficiency and reduce onboarding time.

The infrastructure rollout follows a structured trajectory:

  • Phase 1 (Achieved): Launched Germany’s first sovereign NVIDIA AI factory in Munich, progressing from announcement to full operational status within six months.
  • Phase 2 (Current): Scaling the cloud platform across German and European industrial sectors through automated, repeatable customer environments that eliminate the need for enterprises to build underlying GPU infrastructure internally.

Technical Specifications: NVIDIA DSX OS Integration

NVIDIA DSX OS provides a modular framework for modern AI factories. Within Deutsche Telekom’s stack, vCluster orchestrates core NVIDIA DSX components including NVIDIA NVSentinel for automated GPU fault detection, the NVIDIA GPU Operator, and the NVIDIA Network Operator into an integrated pipeline operating directly above raw GPU hardware.

Future iterations will incorporate additional software layers, such as NVIDIA Omniverse libraries and open-sourced NVIDIA Run:ai frameworks, delivered directly through vCluster Stacks.

Key Infrastructure & Platform Features

  • Control Plane Isolation: A central vCluster Platform provisions dedicated, isolated management instances for every customer.
  • Multi-Layer Security: Complete network, storage, and compute isolation accessible through custom tenant portals or unified APIs.
  • Flexible Workload Delivery: On-demand orchestration of Kubernetes, Slurm, GPU Virtual Machines, and bare-metal environments using Deutsche Telekom golden images.
  • Hardware Lifecycle Management: Provisioning managed via vMetal, supporting current NVIDIA RTX PRO Servers and NVIDIA DGX B200 nodes, with planned integration for NVIDIA DGX B300 and future NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 architectures.

A premier German automotive manufacturer has signed on as the flagship customer, operating its own private AI cloud to validate the architecture for large-scale industrial deployment. Deutsche Telekom projects expanding platform coverage from 500 vCluster-supported NVIDIA GPUs today to over 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell and NVIDIA Rubin GPUs.

Executive Statements

“With vCluster orchestrating our NVIDIA DSX stack, each customer gets its own private AI cloud, on one platform that spans every GPU generation we run,” said Andreas Falkner, Head of Industrial AI Cloud at Deutsche Telekom. “We value the team’s deep expertise with NVIDIA hardware and open source software.”

“NVIDIA is giving AI factory operators the best hardware in the world and now the software building blocks to run it. Our job is to turn those building blocks into a production-grade cloud,” said Lukas Gentele, Co-Founder and CEO of vCluster Labs. “As a German-founded company, we’re proud that Deutsche Telekom’s Industrial AI Cloud is where NVIDIA DSX OS first went into production at scale, automated end to end, so any German company can get its own private AI cloud. Any NVIDIA Cloud Partner can follow the same path.”

“NVIDIA AI factories turn energy into valuable intelligence, and tokens into revenue. vCluster helps Deutsche Telekom put AI to work, producing and delivering tokens at scale. Built on NVIDIA DSX OS, this enables every NVIDIA AI factory to be more productive and fungible across customers and workloads,” said Nico Caprez, VP, AI Infrastructure Growth at NVIDIA.
